I quite honestly do not like how small they are in terms of depth. I have quite a few. I really don't have another suggestion though and will be looking to see what others recommend.
I like these Totally Tiffany ones better.

I have a bunch of these. They work great to store items for a specific layout, or card, if you're going to a crop. Or, I just do that when I get an idea want to try. Then when I have time or mojo, I grab one and play.
You also could use them to store specialty papers, or ink cubes, etc. Just label and stick on a shelf.

I had these and they were too thin for my liking. I could get stuff for one layout in it, but nothing else really. I dont crop from home so it just didnt make sense to have such bulky containers for one layout.

I guess it depends on what exactly you want to use them for, or put in them. At only 1.5" deep, they won't hold much. Like others have said-good for separating one small project or kit. I went with a bunch of the deeper ones. Definitely more of a "storage" unit that way.

I have a couple of them. They’re nice for taking card stock and kits to a crop. I also followed 950nancy ’s suggestion to use them for mini ink pads. They’re really great for that, and hold a lot.

Because you have your own room and can leave pages out, I'd go with the regular sized 12x12 Iris Cases. I use them for storing my more used themes. It's also good for curbing the spending in that area if they are full. I am currently banned from buying more camping and Halloween items.
I LOVE the idea of getting a couple for pages in progress for myself, because I frequently get interrupted and don't have my own space. I don't think I would ever use a set of ten though.

I also have a few that are a different brand. Probably from Hobby Lobby. They are 3" deep so they hold a lot more stuff and a lot of different stuff. For me right now, they work great! Plastic totes

I’m wanting them more for stuff I’m using for a full album, not just a one page project.

Project boxes? I made my own. Your pizzeria may fix you up. Greasy ones don't really work out very well. I unfolded them and then deco'd both sides and reassembled. The light colored one I just sprayed with an off white stone texture paint from Home Depot. The others gesso, yellow paint, and then red(ish) paint. www.scrapbook.com/galleries/155177/view/5420211/-1/0/0.html

I haven't used the cases you linked and sadly don't have the space for something like that for myself, but the way I would use them would be to have WIPs in them and limit how many WIPs I had to the number of cases. So before I could start a new project I'd have to empty out one of the cases.
For general storage I think they're probably too much bulk (and plastic!) for not enough actual storage space. Bigger Iris cases aren't necessarily the answer though if your plan is to separate out things into kits or whatever - ideally you don't want to have a bunch of empty space inside or throw things together that don't belong together. I like some of Totally Tiffany's storage envelopes and containers.

I like to mix stuff up, so sometimes pull out things for other projects from a different project. 🙂
