I've read quite a few books this month--reading through a stack of books from the library before it closed. What have you been reading lately?

There are lots of recommendations on all the past weekly reading threads.

I’m currently reading The Dog Who Could Fly. It’s a true story about a soldier and his dog in WWII.
I’m really enjoying it.

I just read All the Ugly and Womdeful things. I have a book by Lisa See from the Library that I tried to start last night but didn’t get far. I also was listening to The Water Dancer but since I haven’t been driving haven’t been listening much lately.

Crap. Sports romance crap. Absolutely no thinking required. 90 books so far this year. Not an ounce of shame

I just read The Red Lotus, which is the new Chris Bohjalian. I like him, but can’t recommend it because it’s about a pathogen 🦠.
I read the new Gytha Lodge, Watching in the Dark. It’s the second in a mystery series.
Right now, I am reading Dear Edward, by Ann Napolitano. The premise is that just one person survives a plane crash, and it toggles back and forth between the flight and his new life.

I'm reading The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. So glad I had picked it up before the libraries closed.

I'm reading Jessica Simpsons memoir and enjoying it more than I should admit (and I'm not really even a fan of hers), Glennon Doyle's new book and Maybe you should talk to someone. Loving all 3. Yesterday I finished The last letter from your lover, an older Jojo Moyes book and it was a pretty good fluffy read.

It might sound a little impressive but it really, really isn’t. I can not stress how little thinking is required to enjoy these books. Plus, I don’t work and reading is my primary source of entertainment. I can’t remember the last time I watched something on TV. Please note that I’m not bragging about having more high-brow taste because I don’t watch TV; refer back to description of “sports romance crap.” Also, I was really sick for over 3 weeks towards the beginning of the year so read half of the books then.

I am working my way through the Agatha Christie Poirot books. They are easy to get from my library on the kindle, I will read Miss Marple next. I am so very thankful for my kindle and the ability to check out books from the library right now, I would be lost without it.

I have been reading voraciously. I read The Girl in the Letter, The Replacement Chronicles, The Last Bathing Beauty, and Lost in a Lie. I just pick various Kindle titles.
I'm also reading a book about the English Country Woman from Tudor to Victorian times. It's a bit slow and is reprinted from a long time ago. The style is for information not pleasure.

I normally read fiction at least an hour, and sometimes much more, every day. Prefer GRRM type fantasy or Stephanie plum or Lincoln Lawyer type mysteries. I am a slow reader--why rush to end the enjoyment of a book? But I normally read several books per month.
In March, I finished ZERO books! Bopped around, tried this book, that book. Would read for a few minutes and then switch to mindless web surfing and Apple games, scrolling though pinterest at sb pages. When I went back to the book, I couldn't remember what I had last read...
Have finally settled on the newest Kathy Reichs book, and am able to follow it and enjoy it, so maybe my concentration is coming back. Which is strange, b/c now I have extra people in the house and am busy with my dgs's home schooling this month.

I don’t read fiction, preferring non-fiction. Currently I’m bouncing between two books, Feed Sacks: The Colorful History of a Frugal Fabric and The Tunic Bible: one Pattern, Interchangeable Pieces m Ready-to-Wear Results. The first because I’m always studying fabric. The second because I hope to make a tunic before solitary confinement is over.
