I have the original one and I have not scrapped in a long time. Can you still get cartridges for this one? Do all of them fit the one I have? I want to do some card/tag making for Christmas but searching on line sent me into a tail spin! Been out of the game too long!

Not an expert by any measure. I have an old cricut also and just bought a new cartridge on Tuesday for my daughter to use. It worked perfectly, but they don't come with the overlays for the keyboard anymore. I bought a universal overlay for 2.99.

I think you can use any but those made for the now extinct Imagine machine.

All the cartridges still work (except the Imagine cartridges). If you connect your cricut to the internet, you can also use it online with Cricut Craftroom. This would give you access to all the digital images available too. The old cricuts will NOT work with the newest Cricut design space though, as that only works with the Explore.
