freebird I wanted to get your opinion on replacing ds's windshield at this time. He absolutely needs it done, but we can see through it and realistically he's still 15. We were thinking we were get it done in the near future to help the company with some work, but since it isn't completely essential so I wanted your input.

freecharlie Hey, sorry, I'm just now seeing this. The answer is "it depends". I know here, technically, you can get a ticket although that's not very common. I have seen ppl drive with a crack for years. So my answer is, it depends on how bad the break is, and how bad it obstructs his vision. I IS a piece of safety glass, so it won't fall in on him or anything while he's driving, however, it's purpose is to keep him in a car in an accident, and it's already broken. I would make it a priority when you can.

We are an essential business and are technically still doing installs. No in shop waiting room though, only drop offs and mobile work. Truth is, the phone is hardly ringing.

Then I will try a local place on Monday. I just didn't want to be a bother.

This reminded me when my niece got a ticket for a cracked windshield; she lives in Monument, CO if that matters as I know laws vary. She paid her fine and got the windshield replaced and went on her merry way. She got stopped for something else and was taken to jail as she had a warrant for her arrest. Evidently she was suppose provide proof to the court she had her windshield fixed.

Ka Ching, Ka Ching, its a Money grab Definitely a money grab. She's the last person one would think to have been hauled off to jail. lol She was about 30 years old when this happened, so she reaaly wasn't young and naive either.
