I am realizing I wish I knew how to...
Sew better Make bread (I’m kicking myself for getting rid of my late 1990’s bread machine)
How about you?

You can make bread. I just did it last night! It's way easier than you think.
I, too, got rid of my wedding present bread machine! Like, a year and a half ago. DOH!
I just made my first loaf of bread last night and it turned out well.

You can make bread! I have a book called Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day that’s very, very easy. There is a master recipe in the book that’s super simple—no kneading or fuss. You just make a nice sized batch and put the dough in your fridge and cut chunks off as you need it to bake. Here’s the recipe alexandracooks.com/2008/06/22/artisan-bread-in-five-minutes-a-day-seriously/Maybe look on YouTube for videos. My advice is get bread flour! Much lighter and less dense than all-purpose. 😊

Bread is super easy. The book PrettyInPeank linked is a great resource. An even easier bread is the New York Times No Knead Bread. Its baked in a Dutch Oven and has an amazing crust.

Use regular flour and water and make a sourdough starter. Google how to do it without yeast. We’ve been baking our own bread from scratch for decades. From scratch includes grinding our own flour sometimes. i wish i could sing well. i would like my cooking mojo back.

Also wish I could sew well and that I hadn't donated my mom's old sewing machine when we moved.
I can bake bread - it's not hard - but flour and yeast are both hard to find.

Sew Play piano...I took lessons for 8 years, but I didn't keep up with it. I'm thinking of finding an online refresher to start learning and playing again. I'm still working full time, but I'd like to play as a stress reliever

gar funny you should mention time travel. I just pondered to DH the other day that what if this virus was brought by a time-traveler? Or how crappy it would be for someone traveling from past to future and landing in a pandemic.

I wish I knew how to cut my own hair, my fringe is at that length where it's constantly poking me in the eye. I could cut it myself but then I'd really not want to go outside for weeks!

I ordered a bread maker and finally scored some yeast, but bread flour is impossible to get right now.

Gardening. Small, container type gardening. I have a very small yard at my townhouse that I could grow a few things, but I can’t figure out where to start. I have been looking at YouTube but some of the beginner videos looked way more complicated than I want.
I just want somebody to say ‘go buy these seeds, and this soil and this size container. Then do this, and water and they will grow.’ Haha

I wish I was better at sewing, too. I'm making masks for my family, and it's taking me a long time. I'm figuring it out though. I had enough elastic in my sewing basket to make 3 masks, and ordered another 5 yards that should be here before the end of the week.
I also wish I had kept up my flute playing -- I'd love to be able to disappear into some good music right now.
I ordered bread flour and yeast from the King Arthur website yesterday morning, SCORE! I think it said 10 days to get here, but I still have four packets of yeast and plenty of all purpose flour to last until then.

I was going to say a week, but it might have been 2, and then I realized it felt more like 6.... We need some different markers for pandemic times.

I am realizing I wish I knew how to... Sew better Make bread (I’m kicking myself for getting rid of my late 1990’s bread machine) How about you? I consciously got rid of my bread machine it’s easier imho to make bread with my kitchen aid & bake it in the oven. Especially the earliest bread machines where the loaf was a big vertical thing. It’s not hard to make bread without a bread machine provided you can get yeast.

I was born in the wrong era because I do know how to bake bread AND sew, LOL. It really helps to have grown up with Depression era parents.
I wish I knew how to finish assembling my 3D printer.

Sew and garden here too. I do have a sewing machine and I took sewing in high school. But, I’ve never attempted anything more complex than a napkin on my own.
Dh is giving gardening a try this year. He’s never tried before but his BIL is a big gardener, so he’ll rely on his advice.
