...you might like this book by Anne Bronte. I found it while browsing in a used bookstore and it looked interesting. I've read and loved the well-known Bronte books, but never heard of this one. It's the story of a girl who becomes a governess to help her family, which has fallen on hard times. She describes the families she lives with and how she is treated. It's darker than Jane Austen, but it reminded me a bit of "Persuasion." I was disappointed when it ended, the way I always feel after reading JA, like I'm not ready to leave these people and this time. This book will be added to my "semi-annual Jane Austen Binge Read." Anne Bronte also wrote "The Tennant of Wildfell Hall" which all the critics seem to agree is the better book, so I'm looking forward to reading that one as well. Anyway, if you are interested, Agnes Grey is available for free on Kindle: Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte
