I just don't know if I have the stamina to watch this series. I have such little tolerance for reality tv.
I don't mind people being stupid as much as I mind cruelty to animals.

I recently read an article written by someone who knows all of these people personally. He said the show didn’t touch on the terrible things that really went on with the animals. He then told a few stories of what he witnessed Joe Exotic doing to various animals, which I will not repeat here because it was too upsetting. I’ve read a few articles on Joe and every person that knew him with the exception of his current guy, Passage, said that he was horrible to the animals and manipulative to his mom. Apparently, he talked his parents into using the insurance money they received when his brother died to purchase the land for the zoo. Joe’s other brother stated that the accident in which their brother died did not have anything to do with drugs or alcohol, yet Joe claimed it did and was doing magic acts in his brother’s name and accepting donations to supposedly go to alcohol and drug education. The brother also said Joe claimed to have been the one to turn the machines off on their brother, which he said was not true. He said his brother is a “Charles Manson.” Joe also tried to profit off Travis’s death, collecting funds for a foundation to work with people addicted to drugs and to provide gun education. The money was going directly into Joe’s own account. The more I read about Joe, the more I think we are better off having him in a cell where he cannot hurt any more animals. The stuff he did to people around him was bad, but the people could have walked away. The animals could not. I think Joe experiencing life in a cage is rather fitting. Now with all that said, I will watch the final episode when they air it. Link
