Sounds like the toilet paper hoarders. My guess would be she got there and there wasn't any.

I would never 'go off' in public for fear that I will be the ONE who gets blasted all over social media for it. Lol. It's not a good look for anyone, is it?

Poor lady. Fear sometimes make us behave in regrettable ways. I can’t pretend I haven’t momentarily lost my mind in a highly charged situation.

I probably would have told the guy to mind his own mouth, but in more colorful language than she used.
This is going to get worse much worse. I would not be surprised to find police st the stores.

Yeah, I have a feeling that we haven't seen anything yet. But think of the stories we will have to tell future generations.

We’ve had police every day at my HEB. I figured it had to do somehow with tp gathering. I truly feel bad for that woman.

The last time I was inside my grocery store (HEB) there was a policeman inside. I do curbside now but there’s a police car parked in the front so I assume they are still there.

I completely understand where this lady is in her headspace. I have 3 rolls of toilet paper left in my house. I try to go out shopping only 1 time per week, but still can’t find a ding dang 4 pack to save my life!

They have TP at mine, and there were also some in the aisle that has all the $1 cleaning supplies, wipes, etc.

It’s just annoying to have to check many different stores for tp. It defeats the purpose of essential outings only. It feels like there are households sitting on 25+ rolls and still buying more at every opportunity...that feels sucky. Ok, teen-style rant over. I will survive.

I am going to make a run for some tomorrow. We have a few rolls, but as a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 kids, we go through a lot! My mom told me about a friend of hers that was in line at a store. There was an older person in line and the cashier asked them if they found everything. She said no, I didn't find toilet paper. The lady behind her piped up and said I have 400 rolls in my basement! My mom's friend said I hope your basement floods. lol I know he wasn't serious, but come on now. 400 rolls??? Come on.

I’m really not surprised about the increased police presence in stores. With so many people laid off and out of work right now and not sure how they’re going to pay for stuff, I bet the levels of shoplifting is way, way up.

It will be half ply, but I've seen reports of restaurants selling TP and janitorial stuff. They can't use it right now anyway and they tend to get it in bulk.

I've been shopping at Central Market (owned by HEB for non-Texans) and haven't noticed any police inside the store. There is always one at the front door, letting people in, though. Last time I was there was on Sunday.

I read somewhere (maybe here) about elderly people having trouble finding toilet paper because they fear going out a lot. We started carrying several individually wrapped rolls in our car to offer to people if we hear someone in a store talking about needing some. Before things got bad we bought extra toilet paper at Costco (our Costco still had mountains of toilet paper at the time). Then my husband moved offices, and he had several rolls (that we bought for the office). So we have shared with my friends/neighbors.

I haven't been to a store in 3 weeks and even though some of my friends said the stores had I just ordered online to avoid the madness.

The Costcos in our area seem to be getting in a lot of paper products this week. I read they even had the better TP, the Charmin today!
But, there seems to be more interesting "discussions" on my NextDoor app this week. People are getting snippy with each other. It's been a long 4 weeks here of shut downs, plus we had rain all this week which probably hasn't helped with people's nerves.

I need to find face tissue. Allergies and my husband’ s constant bloody nose ( don’t ask), means that we go through tissue FAST. And all the boxes seem to empty at once.
I was able to find some at Walmart today, but only bought 3. I need to have at six on hand.
I have been buying napkins when I see those, but they are riugh on the nose.
I am to tired and old to go searching everyday/where.

My friend got yelled at for buying tp abut a month ago. She was at Safeway, and asked one of the clerks if they had any. The clerk told her to go to the deli, and they were bringing out a pallet. She waited her turn, and got two packages, that had like 8 rolls in each package. A lady started yelling at her and told her she was the reason there was COVID. My friend told her to mind her voice, and, not that it was any of her business, but she was buying for her family of 4 that had 1 roll left, and not that it was her business, she was buying another for an 84 year old with cancer, and shouldn't be out. Of course, now their are more restrictions and she couldn't have gotten that extra package.

LEO are outside Costco and Sam's club here now. People have lost their ever loving minds. The calls that LEO are responding to are hysterical. Grow up people and behave.
