No mention of New Jersey? That's the hottest spot of all right now I think it is talking of the places that are becoming the new hot spots. New Jersey has been hit for a while now, correct?

Yes, New Jersey has been worrisome for several days. I'm not sure NY is even cresting. It did look like it, but yesterday we had 11.186 which was our highest day ever. Today we've already recorded 10,487 with hours to go. Colorado is showing an even 1,000 new cases with hours to go there too. Personally, I don't think the graphs have been right at all. I've been watching like a hawk, and I do not believe we are going to see anywhere near the cases that were originally projected. I hope I'm right.

Keep in mind that reported numbers everywhere are significantly depressed due to lack of available testing.
The south, including Houston, is percolating along with new cases growing every day, but we don't really know how bad it is because people can't get tested unless they're already at death's door.

Texas is reporting 1,389 new cases so far today which does make Texas a "warm" if not "hot" state.

Texas is reporting 1,389 new cases so far today which does make Texas a "warm" if not "hot" state. And we're projected to be about 3 weeks away from our peak Test results are lagging far behind - Houston's mayor reported over 600 new cases in the city today, but half of the results were from March. We really have no idea how many cases there are at this point. Red state governors are now incentivized to limit testing, which artificially depresses numbers, to justify their own decisions to keep everything open for so long.

Yup. Allegedly IL is supposed to peak this weekend.

We really have no idea how many cases there are at this point. I think this is sadly very true. In MN we are not reporting very high numbers, but my sister who works in an ER said tons of people who probably have the CV are sent home to recover at home because they are not sick enough to get an actual test. Only the very very sick are getting tested. Edited to add we had GOP lawmakers arguing we should lift the stay at home thing because, "Our numbers are almost the best in the nation." Yeah, well tell that to the hundreds of sick people who don't have confirmed cases you bozo. Grrrrr......

However they are now going to support them for a while longer...

I see that NY has higher rates than any other country at the moment! I hope the numbers are starting to level off there. I was just seeing a report about the mass graves on Hart Island...it's just tragic that all over the world people are being buried without proper ceremonies or their loved ones In the UK I believe we're just starting to see that the results of social distancing are starting to filter through and slow the growth.

I have an online friend from SCS that lives in Michigan. Apparently a new order has gone into place that limits non-essential places quite a bit. She and her republican friends are losing their minds as if this is a socialism takeover. Somebody said that only parts of the state should be on lockdown since it isn’t everywhere. I pointed out that it is easily spread but apparently they know better than all of the other doctors.
Seriously I can’t even with these people.

Seriously I can’t even with these people. For real. My brother thinks the same thing. He actually said we should be using the herd immunity and letting the chips fall where they may. Oh sure dude, especially when it comes to our mom who just got done with chemo. What a dbag. I really don't like him a lot of the time.

I have to sit on my hands often to not tell the people in my area that they are fucking idiots. Here is what I want to post: YOU don't know better than the doctors and most in the government. YOU don't have all the information. Making declarations and trying to get things your way because you FEEL something is off is fucking dumb. Something doesn't add up because you suck at math. This isn't some conspiracy between Gates, Clinton, and big pharma. Your opinion is getting bashed because, like your hero, you just make shit up and because it isn't based in any sort of reality.

But that doesn't fit the conspiracy narrative!!! You know, something smells off and the data if you look at it doesn't add up. I want to know what data these people are looking at! They must have access to some highly classified shit nobody else gets to see

I think it’s weird people are saying Chicago is a NEW hotspot. We still have rising numbers but it’s to be expected given a city our size. We have had many cases for weeks now.

I pointed out that it is easily spread but apparently they know better than all of the other doctors. Seriously I can’t even with these people. I am in Michigan. The Governor added blocking off garden centers which includes seed, potting soil, etc. This seems a bit much as it’s indoor seed starting time and could be a mental boost for some during this time or for those who have decided to try gardening this year because of all this. But she allowed online auto sales which we’ve never had during the stay home order - not sure how you get plates/tabs as the Secretary of State offices are shut down and that system is so backlogged right now (and was prior to stay home orders) and is appointment preferred or you have to spend a whole day waiting at the office. And she shut down visiting second homes or vacation rentals. But we can drive anywhere we want in the state to go visit a state park. So restroom/food/gas breaks driving to a state park are OK but I can’t check on personal property? We’ve been acknowledged we’re doing good with social distancing but these updates to our stay home order feel heavy handed after all we’ve done for the last three weeks. We’re all getting antsy at this point and those measures should have been part of the original order. The metro Detroit area has been hit hard and has 80% of the known positive cases within the state. Detroit has underlying issues which could not be fixed by stay home orders (water shut offs, poverty, reliance on transit, dense population, an international airport that was never shut down to international travelers) so yes Michigan wins the hot spot award.
