I was a die hard Republican until this last election. I didn't vote for Obama because I thought he lacked experience (Senator from Illinois with little to no political experience) and I was afraid that his lack of experience would prevent him from being effective in bringing about bipartisan support. He had a bumpy ride but he was always articulate, thoughtful, and showed empathy. There were no scandals, he was able to show a sense of humor without belittling others and was a true family man. I was wrong about him and from now on I will look for a candidate who is a statesman with the above qualities and will bring back pride in our country. I am so embarrassed to be an American right now. Thank you for saying this. Quite frankly, I understand why people voted for Trump. But what I never will understand is why people continue to support him. At least come out and say he’s a terrible person, but I need a Republican in the office. However I don’t hear anyone saying things like that. They just think he’s great and I think that is so telling about who they are.

I weep when I consider what we went from to what we have. America. Two steps forward, three (hundred) steps back.
I love Make America Proud Again.

Which is the thing I can’t figure out most. There’s always an excuse for his short comings followed by immense pride in him.

Is it really involvement if you pop in to drop one sentence with lots of emojis and leave? I wonder what strange need that meets for the poster.

🤣🤣🤣 Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black 🤣🤣🤣 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸TRUMP🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 How cute. You're so "proud" of being a Trumper that you have to use an alter to support him. I hope you and every other moron that supports Trump is personally harmed by his ineptitude.

Please name even one freaking thing that rises to the level of all the shit Trump and Company have done.
Not holding my breath...
ETA: Just to clarify, I didn't vote for Obama. But I would still take him back in a hot minute.

What if it's an inability to admit they were wrong so are digging in no matter what that they made the right decision? Not supporting him now means they were wrong 4 years ago? I don't know. I have been flummoxed about all of it since he won the primary and stood slack mouthed when he won an election I was sure he couldn't possibly. I live in Trump Country. I see the inane Trump 2020 flags flying at people's homes and the MAGA trucker caps on old men in town. I do not understand how they can support a man who so glaringly goes against everything his supporters claim to value. But I do understand the mindset "I'm never wrong" very well.

What I find somewhat interesting about the visitor to this thread with the American Flags and trump’s name along with closet trump supporters and the in your face trump supporters, is how they are ignoring how absolutely stupid trump is. This is not just a petty remark slamming trump, the man is actually stupid.
When he first started out in 2015 it became clear he didn’t know the answers to a lot of questions about the government and how it works. And he never took the time to find out so he would be prepared the next time he was asked the question. At the time I said he was intellectually lazy with no curiosity.
But now I have come to realize the man is just plain stupid with no curiosity.
Yesterday at his briefing was perfect example of his stupidity.
He starts talking about this “brilliant “ enemy. A virus has intelligence? It seems to me something has to have a certain amount of intelligence to be labeled ”brilliant “.
Then he goes on talking about this germ and antibiotics. Problem is a virus is not a germ and antibiotics will not clear a virus.
Questions started being asked. A reporter asked a question about the price of oil. He starts out talking about the big dollars bills were in the 1950s. trump and I are about the same age so at first I was trying to remember how big paper bills were in the 1950s. Then I realized he was talking about the price of gas when it was under $1 a gallon. He used used a number like $.90 a gallon. Problem with that scenario was the average price per gallon of gas was under $1 until 1980. I looked it up. In the 1950’s a gallon of gas was about $.50 a gallon or less.
You don’t have to be the smartest person in the world to be President of the United States. But you do have to be willing to ask questions from those who know more about a subject than you do so that when you stand before the American People during a pandemic the information you are providing is as accurate as it can be. And that ain’t trump.
This is a man tasked with making decisions that affects most if not all American Citizens, so how does one trust that this intellectually challenged individual is even capable of making these decisions. He has certainly failed at it with this pandemic. Any progress made fighting this “brilliant enemy “ has been made by then individual states, counties and cities. That is not how it’s suppose to work in the time of a nationwide crisis. Guidance should be coming from the President. But he seems more interested in his ratings from the briefings and being political with who does get the medical supplies needed by the individual states and who doesn’t. Forgetting or ignoring people are dying and this isn’t the time for politics.
So when you see this undying support or even casual support for trump you got to wonder about these individuals. I mean you really do. With these individuals there certainly is a disconnect when it comes to trump

You aren’t going to get a real response, just more American flags and TRUMP 2020, because she thinks it triggers us.
The only thing it triggers us to do is to wonder just how bright she could possibly be. (Spoiler alert: not very.)
The best thing to do is ignore her. She really isn’t part of the conversation.

In a lot of youtube streams that never had trolling behavior, there is suddenly a lot going on because people have nothing better to do, apparently. People are bored and there are certain groups that find entertainment in getting a rise out of people. I'm to the point of just shaking my head at this kind of behavior. I mean, no, technically many of us don't really have a lot going on at the moment (my husband works from home and still doesn't have enough to keep him busy even though he sits at his computer just in case an assignment comes in for the time he's paid to be there) but there are so many more productive things these people could be doing. Oh well...says more about them than the people they are trying to target.

I don’t know how the scale of the crisis and the enormity of the decisions that need to be made don’t faze even him despite his massive ego. The responsibility should weigh so heavily that, for once, he would think beyond himself. The fact that he doesn’t speaks volumes about his failings and limitations and shows even more starkly how unfit for office he truly is.

He'll be the one president in history where there isn't some jaw dropping documented 'before and after' service photo. Stress and anxiety take a major toll...he has neither of these issues beyond his desire to become a dictator so the press (and everyday citizens) cannot speak the truth about him. Nothing beyond preserving his fragile ego matters to him.

"The more smart people you have around you, and the less embarrassed you are to ask questions, the better your response is going to be," Obama said.
And that, my friends, is real leadership.
The kind that realizes its a strength to surround yourself with people smarter than you, and is secure enough in their leadership to ask questions of them.

I think even the trolls are getting embarrassed as they only pop in every once in a while, and never come back to defend “their president.” I would like to know if someone could actually explain why they still think he is so great without invoking Hillary, Benghazi, President Obama or “the Libs.”
