I just got an email to register for CKC Lancaster! It runs July 24-25 at the convention center in Lancaster, PA. I've gone quite a few times before and always enjoyed it.
Do you think it's too early to plan for something like this? i would hope everything will be "back to normal" by then, but I'm not sure. I'm afraid if they don't get enough registrations they will stop offering these. This is about the last place I can go to to look at scrapbook products before I buy them. No more scrapbook stores near me.

I will skip posting my opinion, but I personally would not plan on going anywhere like that in July.

I will be there for sure, but since I only go to shop I don't preregister for anything except vendor passes. But I don't think it's too early and I keep a very positive outlook when it comes to summer conventions.

Nopity nope nope nope. Not going to any conventions in July - even a professional one that I look forward to every year. I'm not even sure I will travel to see my family in August as I do every year. I'm afraid to go back to school in September!
Maybe it's because I live in NYC, near a hospital, and I have been listening to constant ambulance sirens for the last several weeks. Maybe it's because I know some people who have died. Maybe it's because I know SO MANY people who have been frighteningly sick before recovering. I don't know - but what I DO know is that I'm not planning any "just for fun" trips anytime soon.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best! I would not register for anything yet. If you decide to register, I would suggest reading through their cancellation and refund policy first. I went to CKC-St. Louis (probably their last one before everything started getting shut down), and at that time people were concerned, especially those with pre-existing health issues, and they would not give a refund to those who had pre-registered. If it rolls around and is held, you can always register the week before or sign up for things at the event. I doubt much, if anything, will be sold out.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t canceled/postponed and are still accepting registrations. The city I live in all of the big events or gatherings that occur during the summer have been canceled or pushed back until September.

We have a limit on gatherings here in MD, no more than 10 people. Not sure if PA has the same.

I was at CKC St. Louis as well. It was the weekend that everything in Illinois started getting shut down (governor of Illinois ordered bars and restaurants closed down the Sunday we got back home). Attendance was down this year. I notice because I use a mobility scooter to get around and I could get in the popular booths (Paper Loft) Friday morning. During a normal convention I can't get in until later in the afternoon. I don't remember many if any classes being sold out. You could always make your hotel reservation (if needed) making sure you can cancel it and wait until a week or two before the convention to add classes. They won't sell out of vendor fair tickets.

My friend and I just registered because we saw that just like Expo, CKC is offering an all day/evening crop both days. It includes free vendor passes. By adding a $5 extra door prize ticket option I was able to get to $77 and then applied the $10 off $75 coupon. So I saved a few dollars and got some extra door prize tickets even though we never ever win anything in almost 20 years of conventions. They will refund if it is cancelled so if the crop interests you maybe you want to go ahead and sign up. I like it because I can take a break whenever I want and put my stuff down at my crop space.
