Is anyone in contact with sleepingbooty? She hasn't posted in a week, and she had been keeping us updated regularly on conditions in France. I hope she is okay. |

I too noticed she hasn't been posting for awhile. I hope she and her family are okay and her absence is only something like a bad internet connection.

Thank you for the kind messages, ladies. The past week has been a slow, odd blur. We have two loved ones currently on ventilators and it's not easy. There isn't much news. We wait for updates on both sides daily, trying to keep up with work but any semblance of "confinement normalcy" is gone.
I've somehow made it up to here safe and sound. Can't lie: there is a part of me with each Covid-19 announcement in group chats and phone talks that wonders when my time will come. I managed to live sharing tiny apartment sans balcony 24/7 just fine. Sure, it's no fun but I wasn't too bothered. But once you have friends and family infected, some getting significantly worse, that friend who just lost a parent and is bawling on the phone, unable to see the body one last time, it's a whole other dimension of the pandemic that kicks in.
Sorry I didn't check in with you all. My mind's been somewhere else and I've felt mentally exhausted. Thanks for all the love. Sorry I caused the worry! Definitely not my intention.
I hope you've all had the time to enjoy something Easter-y today and that you're safe. Please check in on your loved ones, particularly those at risk, and do whatever you can to keep them safe.

PS: I'll post an update on France tomorrow after Président Macron's speech in case anyone's interested in what's happening in my nook of the world.
