I’m in the market for a printer that would mostly be used for regular every day stuff but would like the option to print photos larger than 5 x 7 (I have a PM400). Any recommendations?

I love my Canon pixma mg7720. It is a couple of years old. It uses 5 color cartridges, cayan, magenta, yellow, grey, and then a large black tank for printing just regular documents. I love the color and quality of the prints I get when using Canon 8x10 luster paper that I get on Amazon for about 15 bucks for 100 sheets.
Edited to add: I have had an Epson large printer before and while I absolutely loved the prints I was always having problems with it! It was so temperamental. And I felt like it guzzled ink by the gallon when trying to fix it and epson ink isn't cheap. This is my second Canon and I have been purchasing photo printers for probably 15 years now. My Canons have never given me issues. For regular sized printers I will always purchase Canon. I did just purchase the Epson pm400 but that's to take with me to work (I work long hours with some down time caring for the elderly).

I have an older Canon Pixma and I've been very happy with it. Mine has the grey cartridge as well and I think that makes a difference in the quality of photos. When this one dies, I'll replace it with another Canon.

I also have an older Canon Pixma I've been very happy with. It's the MG5150 - am sure there's something similar still around. I also intend to replace mine with another Canon. I had an Epson years ago and was never very happy with it.

Yup, another Canon Pixma fan here. I don't love my new one quite as much as my old one, but they're generally good printers. I despised our past printers by HP and Epson - for a while I swore I would never own a home printer again! I find the Pixma ink usage to be reasonable and the photo prints are good. I can run cardstock through the rear feed for printing elements for PL or cards. It does basic b&w printing quickly and easily and defaults to double sided to save paper.
Most printers work better if you use them regularly, btw.

I have a pixma mg 7700 series and I really like it. I had another cannon pixma printer prior to this one as well and I would get another cannon if this one stopped working. It doesnt seem to guzzle ink and I'm happy with the print quality.
