😂😂. The word moist doesn’t bother me. It never has, and I don’t get all the hatred for it. Like the Comic Sans hatred. I don’t get that either.

LOL! Call me clueless, but I didn't know that the word moist was an icky word for some. It doesn't bother me in the least. Like freecharlie I'd like some moist chocolate cake along with a cold glass of milk. Now I'm hungry for cake! LOL!!

I have no opinion about the word moist, but Comic Sans is the world’s scourge.

So we're all just going to ignore the moist reference that didn't go with cake? I didn't even look at the article until now. I have a friend that cringes when someone says the word, so at a staff meeting someone brought most towelettes. I enjoyed it thoroughly

I dislike the word moist, for the reasons mentioned in the article. But I hate the word panties even more. Which makes it very difficult for me to be a member on a board made up of mostly Americans (that's YOU, y'all) who see no problem with using the word. Ugh.
And then combine both of those hideous words...... moist panties..... AAAARRRGH!

I enjoyed it thoroughly I found out at a staff holiday party how much my principal hated the word. Let me tell you, I took advantage of that little nugget of knowledge. I love the word. I love the oi sound of it.

Moisturizer makes our skin moist. It sounds like such a pleasant word. Moist, tropical climents are wonderful. A moist cake is delicious. Non moist likers be strange. They prefer dry skin? Dry, arid climents? Dried out cake?

what word would you replace panty with? What do you call them, underwear? Undies. I remember when DD was in creche, the staff were told that they were not allowed to call underwear "knickers" because a parent had complained. I think the complainant considered the word knickers to refer to sexy women's underwear, and not something that very young children would wear. I thought it was ridiculous at the time, but now I wonder whether I would feel the same if the staff were saying panties instead of knickers. One thing for sure, I wouldn't complain to the manager though!

funny how they didn't break it down on gender.... i would assume many men would find the word positive in the non-cake connotation noted?
thinking of anyone i know that has commented on disliking the word, all women except one friend, a gay man. hmmm....

I have no opinion about the word moist, but Comic Sans is the world’s scourge. It’s right up there with Papyrus.

Keep your Comic Sans blasphemy to yourself! 🤣😂🤣 I know, right?! How can people not see how ridiculous Comic Sans is! I'm just messing with you. To be honest, it doesn't really bother me that much. But if I see it in a professional document I am gonna judge the hell out of the writer of said document. There is another font that I have been noticing on Facebook recently, that is even more babyish than Comic Sans. I've seen it on memes and also screenshots of texts etc. Every time I see it I think to myself "What are you, a 10yo girl?" I just googled, and it's called Choco Cooky, and it's one of the Samsung fonts:

We’ve had a ton of rain this year, and every time they announce that it’s coming again they say it’s going to be moist. Totally cracks me up to see people grossed out by it.

Moist doesn't bother me. Chocolate cake sounds fantastic right now. I prefer the term "underwear" to panties. Comic Sans is bad. Papyrus is much worse.
That's all I have to offer to this conversation.

Haha, I used Papyrus recently-ish on a scrapbook page about our favourite restaurant, because it was the closest font I could find to the one used in their restaurant sign. I was so excited when I found it! When DD saw it she told me that the font was very popular (and overused) when she was in high school. I'd never seen it before, so I didn't realise that it was so overused and people now hated it.

The word moist has its place. There are times when it is the best descriptor for something. It doesn't bother me when used in those contexts. It only bother me when people use it egregiously just to be irritating.
