I'm sorry. I lost my dad unexpectedly 2 months after I told him I was pregnant after many years of infertility. It's tough. Focusing on my pregnancy helped a little. I know that's why he was born on Father's Day, the first without my Dad. Bittersweet for sure!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom before the birth of my kids and I always have called her their Angel Grandma. My dad remarried and my step mother is grandma to them and she's wonderful. But I believe my mom is in heaven playing guardian angel to my son. There's no earthly reason to explain why he has survived his dare devil childhood.

I found out I was pregnant with my third son a week after my father's death. It always gave the two of them a sort of bond with each other in my head... and somehow that helped.
Please accept my condolences on the sudden loss of your father. And I hope things go smoothly with your delivery.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this at what should be a happy time. I lost my dad within 3 months of my son being born (his 4th grandchild but it been about 7 years between grandsons and even 3 since any grandchild had been born). Losing a parent sucks, no two ways around.
We had his middle name picked out as James but then gave my son my dad's first name as his middle to honor him. Can you do something similar? At first my DH didn't like the idea since we hadn't named anyone after family members (only had one child prior to this) but we also hadn't had one pass away so I thought it was a good idea.
Take care of yourself during this challenging time and hopefully you will see reminders of your dad in your son as I do.

Rumple, so sorry to hear of your loss. My Dad passed away shortly after my son was born 19 years ago, and never got to see him (we live in AR, my family is in NY).
I do take comfort in the fact that he knew about my son, saw pictures of him, and was delighted about his arrival. You Dad was able to enjoy the anticipation of your baby's birth, so that is a good thing.
Hope all goes well for you and your little one on Wednesday. Hugs....

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you to have to deal with such mixed emotions at this time. You're right, life is very unfair at times and I can understand your anger. I just wish there were some answers for you. Hope everything goes well for you on Wednesday and your wonderful new baby boy will give you comfort in his new life while you grieve the loss of your Dad.
