I am loving all the big background or huge title diecuts with the open letters. Like the outline is white or another solid, and the inner spaces are filled with pp. Have seen a number of the cutfiles available free or for purchase.
Is there a font I can use to weld together letters to make the words I need and then make my own cut file?

You can use just about any font you want to get the same effect. You can either work with each letter individually (best for if you want to stack or stagger the characters) or the whole word. Once you've typed your character(s) you add an internal offset and an external offset (play around with spacing/distance until you're happy with it) then delete your original text. Weld together and send it off to cut!

I’m going to play around with this technique this weekend for my cricut. I’m loving the look I see.
I’ve been playing around with my cricut in general lately, learning how to weld and make shadows.

I’m trying to do this same thing as I really like the look. Been playing but no final results yet. There are a few words and phrases and other images in the the store.

Okay- after some playing around with my Cricut, I did it The font I used was Designers Calendar, it already has a shadow. I played around with the size & shape I wanted. I ungrouped it all, layered the background (shadow part), then grouped it and welded it together. Then I placed the top layer over the shadow how I wanted, then grouped and welded that. I then attached it all, and went to the cut screens. I think those were all the steps... sorry if I missed one. But maybe that’ll be enough to help someone else on Cricut. Here’s what it looks like when I take it off my mat.

I have tried creating my own with the offsets, with mixed results. Depends on the base font and the particular letter. Also, I have trouble getting everything lined up properly. Tried again today, and then purchased a couple of fonts that have a border built in: Atheletic font, Shadow font, and one other.
Played around with some words, and think with some tweaking I can get these to work for me, but didn't do any cutting yet.
