No matter what I do, the tape in my ATG is coming off the front rubber spool. I keep moving it over, and every time I run it on something it shifts back over. I can't do more than four or five strips before having to fix it. Any suggestions?

Is the tape "clicked" securely in place?

I had that same problem when I first got mine. The inside white part that holds the tape was smashed a little and didn't click all the way onto the gun. I had to pry open the tape "holes" to make it go flat onto the gun and it worked fine.

I have loved my ATG for a long time, but I have my first "bad" spool. This one is driving me nuts. I think sometimes we just get a bad one.

Dang, forgot I posted this! I'll have to check it out again, but I *think* it's loaded correctly.

That happens to me whenever I buy the cheaper brand of tape instead of the original 3M brand.

I've used ATG for years for work...sometimes you just get a bad roll. It's warped or something. Start over.

I haven't had that issue, but I can't tell you how many rolls of tape I've bought and found that the adhesive is on the wrong side! Maybe it's because it's old or something - not sure but it's a freakin PITA when I'm in the middle of something and find that my brand new roll is defective!

I finally found a video that had the same problem as me. It was because the tape was warped, but no matter how much flattening I did it still came off center. I cut a shim big enough to cover the whole roll with a hole cut out of the center and fit it in top of the roll. It helps to keep everything lined up and I've had no or problems since.

I had a bad roll once, actually two rolls. They were from two different boxes. I still had my receipt so I put them into one box and returned it and they gave me a new box.
If I bought it from a local store I wouldn't waste time trying to fix it.

OMG- this is brilliant!!! It works-thanks so much! I have 12 warped rolls and this is going to be a lifesaver!

I keep an old spool on top of the spool being used when I close my tape gun. The extra spool seems to help hold everything in place when the spools are a bit warped.
