I'll be honest - I'll probably be the person wearing a mask waaaaay longer than everyone else. I'll be that person that everyone looks at and says "is she that neurotic?" Yep, I am. I'm with you. I think I had my first panic attack in Target this morning. My mask fell off my face, and I couldn't get the loops back over my ears. I started hyperventilating and crying. I was breathing so hard my glasses fogged up and I couldn't see. I'm definitely feeling the stress, and nowhere near ready to go back to normal. I may just staple one to my head for the duration. I’m feel ya! I’m not an anxious person at all and I’ve only gone to the grocery store/target 3 times in the last 40 days. When I went I had so much anxiety that I kind of had a mini panic attack. I can’t imagine my horror If my mask fell off.

And can I just gently say that I hope nobody judges people on either side of the continuum of answers to this poll question? As Dr Henry says, the best things we can do are, "Be kind, be calm, and be safe."
Everyone is comfortable with a different degree of risk, and there are a variety of factors that impact people's decisions... everything from the degree of faith you have in the decision makers, to your own health history.

I will continue to be very cautious. My brother, a dialysis patient, had an important surgery postponed because of the closures. Now he may possibly have another issue to deal with before he can have the surgery. I am his main support, so I need to be healthy and do what I can to minimize his exposure.
After he has his surgery and is, hopefully, recovering well, I may be looking at knee replacement surgery for myself. That will mean an extended time when I’m not going to be doing much other than rehab and very basic stuff anyway.
And since I’ll be retired by the end of May, it will be fairly easy to keep exposure pretty low.

I've always been a hand washer and don't lick the bar when I go out, so, truthfully, I'd be thrilled to go out tonight. That said, I'm healthy and still working, household members are healthy, and we're in a hard hit state, so likely have already been exposed a zillion times. I'd be thrilled to be a guinea pig ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I wouldn't go to a big concert or even local band/bar crowded concert, but would be happy to reasonably share space with folks again. I also tend to be a hugger, and I'm sad that part of my personality is likely gone.

I avoid large crowds anyway and I'm not particularly scared to be around others right now considering I'm probably more exposed at work than at the store, so nothing will really change for me other than I'm weighing how long I want to hold off going to the gym. As soon as they open again, which might be Friday, LA Fitness is going to start charging monthly fees again and I hate paying for something I'm not using but I also don't want to rush into a hotbed of germs without PPE! I can tell you though that the minute Home Goods reopens I'm storming the gates. This mom needs her seasonal mercury glass decor, Rona be damned! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I don't intend to. I'm a SAHW as of the end of February, so I'm sure I will still be adjusting to my new normal, including whatever our county/state wants us to do.
I got very sick mid-March after coming home from a cruise where confirmed cases of Flu A, Flu B and C-19 where onboard. I would really like an antibody test to know for sure if it was C-19. My answer may change based on those results.

Our governor here in NYS has smartly divided our state into "areas" realizing that those of us in the Buffalo/Rochester area have different numbers etc than downstate. He also appointed local people (Lt. Governor and former LT. Governor) to the areas they are from. I think that by May 1st, there will be a plan to open slowly beginning in mid May. I am thankful that he did this.

I don’t want to live in fear so I will have to get comfy with the new normal. Masks and as much social distancing as possible. Avoiding large crowds for awhile. Not going to Disneyland orFootball games will be tough.

I am not ready to leave my house just yet, and when I do I plan to remain cautious. And no, I imagine I will not feel completely comfortable when out and about for a very long time.
But I am NOT planning or willing to shelter in place until there is a vaccine. I simply can't live like this for 18 more months. If this thing had a higher mortality rate I might feel differently. But life is short, and risky, and fragile as it is. I could leave the house and get COVID-19 or stay home for 18 months and get cancer. Luckily - neither is an automatic death sentence.

I'll be honest--as an introvert who doesn't like big crowds anyway, not much has changed for me and I don't worry about being out and about. I'm still going to work, I'm still delivering flowers for my neighbor, I'm still going to Sams and the grocery store, I'm still eating out (just take out, not sit-down). I just miss going to church, my scrapbooking stores, and not having to use hand sanitizer when I'm out and about. I'm still planning to go to my son's baseball & football games whenever they play (thankfully his school doesn't draw large crowds!) My immediate family doesn't have health issues, but our parents are all older and if they still don't want to get together we'll abide by their wishes.

My mom is turning 91 tomorrow. I see her once a week and take her grocery shopping. (She insists on going to the store herself, not letting me do it for her.) I would not want any additional exposure if it can be avoided, because I don’t want to pass it along to her. Now, my stepdad ... possibly a different story.

I'm in Texas and even though restrictions are going to be easing up, we won't be changing much anytime soon. DH will work from home for as long as he's allowed. The kids activities and school are still cancelled and we'll just have to see when those start reopening. My job has essentially been cancelled since I plan and run a summer camp that has been cancelled. Our staff will get together at some point in a few weeks just to touch base, but that's pretty much a one-off and we're a small enough group that we can both have ample personal space and I trust these people not to show up if they are/been around sick people. I will resume some of my volunteer work but we are presently working out the necessary precautions for that, as it entails direct contact with our homeless community. We don't have family in town, nor do we socialize as a family with anyone in particular that's local, so our social habits won't change dramatically in the near future.
After a month or so of restrictions being loosened, I'll reassess.

Nope. I'm in Florida and our beaches open yesterday and immediately flocked to them disregarding the limitations on number of people supposedly allowed.

I don't go many places anyway, honestly my life hasn't changed much! I miss going to hang out at a friend's house, that sort of thing but rarely did I go places where there would be crowds.

DH has a few health issues that make his slightly more at risk, so we will stay home for the time being. We are both teachers and working from home. I haven't been out of the house except walks and grocery runs since March 12th. We may start doing a little take-out here and there and just sit back and watch how things go.

Definitely going to be watching what happens over the next couple weeks as people relax and start getting out more. I'm just hoping that they take the reopening slowly.

I may have a couple days when SIP lifts where I go crazy-like maybe go browse at a store (with a mask) or have a few friends over for an in person happy hour. But I think I will go back to hibernating after I had a couple days of freedom because I think the numbers will begin to climb again. Honestly, I’m more looking forward to everyone else in my family getting out of the house so I can have a few hours to myself😏!
The things I miss the most are travel, concerts and watching my son’s soccer games and of those 3, the soccer games won’t begin until September (fingers crossed) and the other two have indefinitely been put on hold. Everything else has not been that hard to give up.

We are having a gradual lifting of restrictions here, starting next week. Some more shops will open, mainly smaller ones, not large department stores or malls. We need to wear masks when on public transport or shopping. Large events are still cancelled until the end of August, so no one is going to them. Restaurants and cafes are still shut, as are museums and galleries. Overall, I won't be changing much from what I'm doing now - leaving the house for groceries, exercise and medical appointments. DH expects to be working from home until the end of the summer as well. We are not going on vacation this summer, as we won't be able to go to the places we had been thinking of, most likely. I'm so glad to have your perspective on events, as well as the other non US Peas.

We will have to continue to stay home, due to DH's cancer.
I have to drop him at the hospital this afternoon for a surgical procedure. They will text me updates and the surgeon will call me after. Thankfully we know this surgeon, as he has performed similar procedures on DH several times.
It is so surreal to just drop him off!

We’ll probably stick to carry-out and driveway get together with our neighbors for a while. Might hit up the patio at our local brewery once the weather warms up enough.
I will be getting a haircut, though... and taking my pups to the groomer.

My usual job is face to face with mainly elderly, and even in ‘normal’ circumstances I get frequent coughs and colds from them, despite already being careful with handwashing. My boss also only accepts cash, and I hate handling it. I am going to continued to be concerned , but I also wonder whether her business will restart . I love the job, and working at home for my daughter dealing with customers on the phone makes me realise how lucky I was with my 3 day a week job 😬

We would maybe start going places. But it would more than likely be a day trip to the coast (Oregon) to walk on the beach and see MIL. DH would like to back to work. He worked at home for years and ended up hating it in the end so he is struggling. I am actually fine doing what we are doing if my DD could just go back to dance class.
