JoAnn's is bugging the crap out of me. They had some paper pads I wanted, so I put them in my cart. They were on sale. This was yesterday. Today I got a notice that shipping is free over 50 bucks, so I thought cool, I will pull the trigger on my cart because it is like 51.99. Guess what? Now my cart is 142.00! Why? All my stuff that was on sale yesterday is not on sale now. But it is Thursday? How can that be? Doesn't their sale stuff rotate on Saturday? Anyway, super annoying because I am not going to pay those prices for it, even with free shipping. What a joke. Sometimes I hate JA. I'd rather pay shipping and support somewhere else at this point. Problem is, none of the LSS I can order from offer what I am looking for. Grrrr!

Yup, they annoy the crap out of me too!! Went to pick up online curbside order and was missing a paper pad. When I checked the app it still said they had 3 in stock in store ready for curbside pickup!! WTH?? I asked them and they said it must be a mistake in the system 🙄 Now I have an online order where half has shipped and the other half is sitting still processing. Wanna guess what is in the processing order? The damn paper pad I couldn't get at the store!! Argh! I really hate Joanns, I should know better and stick to scrapbook.com!

I can't say anything positive either... They have roped me in multiple times with offers of free shipping to Canada. And then they add 50% of other types of charges (customs charges, handling charges) to me instead. And yes, I've also seen prices change on a daily basis.
I've therefore never successfully completed an order from them, even tho they've had products I wanted! I'd prefer to pay more to scrapbook .com or SSS - at least it's transparent and smaller owned business.

They are notorious for listing items as “in stock” but then I get an out of stock notice when it ships - all the while the items are still showing in stock on the website. I’ve complained to their CS about it, but nothing changes. It’s frustrating and ridiculous.

My Joann’s online vent is that I’ve only placed 3 or 4 online orders with them but EVERY time there is a duplicate item sent to me that I DID NOT pay for. It’s utterly annoying. Off the top of my head, it’s been embossing folders and ink pads. I know there were others but I can’t remember what the others were.

I once got a punch that you would use to punch those Sesame Street sign shaped holes out of packages to hang them on metal pegs at a store in with an order. It was still in the box, I didn't even know J's sold those punches...

I haven’t shopped there since they said punches were cutting machines like a cricut & therefore no discounts apply.
Found what I wanted elsewhere ( for less even ) and haven’t found a reason to go back before the shut down

Recently, Joann was running a 25% off offer on shipped & pick-up orders for regular & sale priced items placed online. Since I've never ordered from its online store (& rarely shop there in person), I read the fine print carefully before adding the code to my cart. It never reflected the discount on the only item I wanted - a big ticket item shown on sale & in stock in-store. The customer service representative claimed the item was not subject to the discount, despite confirming it was not excluded in the fine print. Since I avoid nonsense, I will NOT be shopping online or in person at Joann in the future.

Found what I wanted elsewhere ( for less even ) and haven’t found a reason to go back before the shut down The last time I was at the store, probably late summer/early fall last year, there were no punches anywhere. A clerk told me they were no longer sold in (at least that) store & only available online. All of the hexagon Fiskars squeeze punches, except the smallest, were out of stock in its online store. Luckily, I stumbled across a large EK Success hexagon punch on clearance at Target (regular price $14.99, marked at $10.48, & rang up for $4.48) several weeks ago.

Based on the last several flyers I have received, I noticed that they have been ending their sales on Wednesday, and starting new ones on Thursday. I threw out my last flyer yesterday, because it ended yesterday. I never order online from them, and have only ordered or curbside pickup since the the SIP. I tried a curbside order early last week, and half of what I wanted was not allowed to be sold during the SIP. I ended up with 6 spools of thread (buy 3/3 free) since I was almost out due to the masks I have been making.

I had stuff in my cart that was 30% off during the free ship over 50 promotion and they had advertised an additional 25% off coupon. FREAKING GREAT...but then it didn't say in the app it was in store only until you added it to the cart (it says it elsewhere, but the app is where i saw it first)...anyway, my stores aren't doing curbside service, they're closed entirely. I called customer service and was told to email...so i emailed them...it's been a week and i've heard jackshit...I'm not happy with them, either. Coupons usable only for curbside pick up once again means they give the finger to Nevada where most of the time, the special limited edition products never get sent because my stores aren't open and they ignored my request for a coupon code to get my order squared away. I know 1000% if they actually had at home phone services available for customers to call in that i'd have been able to have them make sure I was taken care of.
Also tell me how the designer destination stuff that is sent in groups of 3 and wasn't added online until about 10ish days ago (and was nowhere near set up when the shutdowns were announced) is down to 1 in stock at one of my stores when they're closed and curbside pick up isn't an option?

Our store (which I always avoided going into unless it was an emergency) just reopened for curbside pickup only. I ordered some fabric and thread for making masks. Picked up part of my order, and it went pretty smoothly. I like the store so much more now that I don’t have to actually go in it.
My online order for multiple pack of twill tape was complete chaos, with items arriving one or two at a time for weeks. Their inventory system is a mess.

They have been awful, just awful. I placed two $100+ orders for fabric, thread, and ribbon for making masks. Everything was in stock at the time of the order. One order I received 2 of 5 spools of thread and 4 rolls of ribbon. Nothing else. The other one, ONE, spool of ribbon. Thanks for wasting my time Joann.

I ordered from Joann for the first time about a month ago. Put about 10 things in my cart, everything was in stock, stupid coupon restrictions but whatever, pressed "order."
Almost immediately got an email that 9 out of the 10 things were out of stock. The only thing that wasn't OOS was the one thing a coupon didn't apply to. And impossible to cancel- not allowed- no grace period.
My credit card was charged April 10 for the one item and I've seen NOTHING. Then there was an email a week or so ago that a bunch of my stuff that I thought was cancelled is now being prepped for shipping? I have no idea.
NEVER AGAIN.

I have been laid back about all the glitches for online ordering. I do admit JoAnn's was the only company that ticked me off. I went to order mask supplies. They told me since my store is doing curbside pickup I had to pick up my order. Even though I picked only items that could be sent to my home.
I understand their warehouse workers are working so hard and trying to keep safe. Thank you and hugs to them. Maybe, JoAnn's is just trying to send orders in bulk for cities that do have curbside pickup to make things safer. The only pickup windows I could get is when my DH was at work. I don't drive due to medical issues. I am not taking the bus to JoAnn's. I can't do a curbside pickup on a bus, lol. The bus ride is two hour trip from home to back. No, JoAnn's I can't pick up because my DH is an essential worker I needed the supplies to make things for his work to stay essential.
I do understand. I am not trying to be a meanie, whiny pants but yes I am frustrated and ticked. Plus, OMG they are so expensive right now on fabric. That is not supply demand issue that is a JoAnn's price gouging issue.

Man, our Joanns is wide open and when I drive by it has a line of at least 20 groups of people trying to get in. (I only drive by because they are by Petco which is doing curbside pick up and we have been trying different foods to get my one cat to eat and gain weight.)
I think it stinks they have all these coupons that are for in store only in general principle right now, they should not be encouraging people to go into their store!!! They also don’t work for curbside pick up which I think is extra crappy. Petco gives me a discount for using curbside, Joanns should be doing the same. On the main board people were saying Joanns was open because they were giving away masks and they were genuinely trying to help. I think it is ore ty clear Joanns is only open because they can be (when all our other craft stores are closed) and they like the extra business. They are frankly just as bad as HL to me right now (which I do think is shut down in my state).

I get it about the masks, but that should just be for pick up, right? People are allowed to go and shop? (edited to add, NOT that I would do that, I am just very shocked)

Which ticks me off because we have another craft chain that is not allowed to be open except for curbside pick up and they don’t have any easy way to order and I want to support them. Michaels isn’t open either I don’t think, except for curbside.

Our local stores (Joann and Michael's) are only available for pickup and my whine is that you can't use very good coupons. I'm just buying less as I agree, their deals just aren't that great right now. I did do Michael's curbside, which was awesome and easy, to get a few things for my daughter's birthday, but I definitely bought less due to prices.

I was one who said that. Our news reported it as a humanitarian effort. They left out the other things like the coupons. Of course they showed a news story of nurses going in after work. It did look like a charity humanitarian effort. It was my mistake to latch on a feel good story and trying to find beauty in things. Also at the time we had a nursing home outbreak and I had loved ones dying in there. Sorry, not sorry for hoping a company was being kind and being mistaken about it. Also, you know how it is on NSBR it is one opinion fits all, ROFL.
What was funny is that after the news story about JoAnn's "Humanitarian Mask Effort" a week later JoAnn's was being shamed in the news with a story of the police going in and forcefully shutting them down for not following the Stay At Home guidelines. The story about Michael's was even worse. At this point I am tired of stores, the news & people.
That is sick your JoAnn's is open.
I will be controversial over this. It's cool and I am ok with the flack. When CDC issues the guidelines for masks I feel like that should have made craft stores essential. No, I don't mean going in and buying Copics. They should have been opened for pickups for fabric and sewing supplies. Trying to get fabric for my area has been so stressful and upsetting. Essential workers need their masks. Our small JoAnn's is the only one doing curbside pickup. The way they are doing it is so crazy and doesn't help essential workers at all.
I have been looking for fabric and sewing supplies for weeks so my DH & his team can have masks. JoAnn's has found some way to do curbside pickup but Hobby Lobby can't in my state. I don't know about HL in other states. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of these stores. They carry fabric and CDC issues mask guidelines and mask making guidelines. That now makes these stores essential. Even makes Michael's essential since Michael's now owns Hancock fabrics. Michael's can get off their high horse and start adding fabric to their online catalog and allowing pickups for essential workers.
The glut of online ordering is stressful, upsetting and difficult. I know it would also be hard for curbside but I think it would have eased many issues. Essential employees could do curbside and Non-Essential online ordering.
Some of us have loved ones who are out there providing resources so a bunch of women can go buy fabric, overwhelm the craft stores online systems so they can make a buck on Etsy. Yes, I am upset and stressed about it. If I see one more post on Instagram of a influencer saying the next trend in crafting is "Making custom masks!" I will scream. She will only charge you $20 for a mask.
To any craft stores locally or nationally owned who are reading this I am begging you to please work with your local government to help provide fabric and sewing supplies for essential workers. Least let them have curbside pickup. A tired nurse can't spend two hours trying to make an online order and hoping it shows up in two weeks. Tired wife looking for fabric for her DH's construction team needs masks now since they are providing critical infrastructure in many cities. Please, please help us.
