Verithin are just harder. They don't crumble as easily, so you'd be able to make thinner lines and more detailed images.
I prefer working with the softer pencils because of the way they blend. I'm not a detail girl.

Prismacolor Soft Core are wax base for professional art blending.
Verithins are the hard lead pencils for detailed work.
A little tip if you get a pencil sharpener that you can sharpen your leads at different widths you have your "Verithins" I do own a set of Verithins. I like them but I use my pencil sharpener more even with my Prismacolor Soft Core.
