I'm looking for advice on the most economical way to ship 12x12 paper. I have some I'd like to sell and also some I'd like to RAK but don't want to spend (or ask buyers to pay) a fortune for shipping. I wish I'd held on to the boxes from my previous kit club subscription!

I think there's a large flat rate box that fits 12x12
If you're only shipping a few, perhaps in a ziplock bag and then cut cardboard to make a sleeve around it?

This box works if you set papers on the diagonal. They used to have one that fit though. I get boxes from Scrapbook Generation that are perfect. I save them to mail papers to others. The boxes come from Uline. I have looked on their website and can't find the exact ones though.

When you’re making plans be sure to check rates on the USPS online calculator - I know that having any dimension over 12” puts the package into a different price category. postcalc.usps.com/I think (maybe?) some people shipping large stacks of paper have slumped them into a large flat rate box which will give you the most bang for your buck. Paper gets heavy pretty fast and the postal rates are very high these days, especially once you get over a few ounces. I think I have a couple of old Studio Calico pizza boxes I could ship you empty - I’m never going to use them. Who knows how much that would cost though! I guess I’d have to check the calculator.

I did a giveaway recently and the paper fit perfectly in the medium flat rate box. It’s around $15 to ship.

I did a giveaway recently and the paper fit perfectly in the medium flat rate box. It’s around $15 to ship. Just to note--this is for a side loading medium box. The top loading box is only 11 3/8" x 8 1/2". I get most of my ACOT packages in a medium (side loading) flat rate box, with the paper in a 13" x 13" zip bag, taped to a 12" x 12" sheet of cardboard. I don't think it's ever come damaged.

I do all our mailing at work. For US Mail it’s not just weight it’s also size and dimension. The post office likes rectangular, not square, since it runs through their automatic sorting better. Also, as mentioned above, 12” is when prices go up.

Check into Pirate Ship for mailing at a lower cost. You get commercial rates. No extra fees.

for anything heavier than a couple of lbs, you are probably best off doing flat rate priority mail.
