I don't have a ton of clear stamps but I do have some and I need a good, compact way to store them - preferably something that'll fit on a bookcase shelf. The ones that 'match' dies are stored with the dies.

I do mine like Jennifer McGuire, all in clear storage envelopes. Then in a clear container where I can flip through them. Works great for me. Only problem is I've needed to add more containers. I have a shopping problem!

could you link to the envelopes and container? I think I'll only need one container...
Thanks

I made my stamp storage out of 6x6" scrapbook page protectors, a cardboard box, and sheets of sized cardstock to fit that's been laminated. Holds pretty much any set, most pockets can take a few depending on size.

Embri -that sounds fairly easy - if only I had a laminater...

I got a fabric basket from a big box store - it’s slightly wider at the top than the bottom (sides flare out) which makes it even easier to flip through the stamps. It’s the kind of thing some people use in their closets - canvas over chipboard or similar. I found one that fit perfectly in the space I had. I have half of my stamps in the Avery Elle plastic envelopes but the rest are still in their original packaging. I usually slit the packaging down the right side so they’re faster to get out and the plastic holds up well for the most part, at least for a while. I’m transitioning them over to the thicker envelopes. I lay my taller stamps on their sides with the slit side facing up. I have my basket on a Raskog-style cart shelf. I can add a photo if you want.

I use the same system as many of the others. Look for clear stamp storage sleeves on Amazon- you'll save a ton of money over the name brands, like Avery Elle.
For example, I bought 100 "USDISC Storage Pocket" 6.75x9.5 envelopes from Amazon for $16.95 shipped. I compared them to some Avery Elle envelopes, and they are virtually identical. The Avery Elles are 6.75x9.75, and they cost $24.55.
I saved even more by buying a lot of 1,000 of the smaller envelopes for 4x6 stamps. I store anything smaller than 4x6 in them, including stencils and AE/SC screenprints.

I use the empty DVd boxes that ... hmmm...can't remember! ...suggested years ago! The clear stamps stick on the inside of the box and the box sits nicely on my shelf. Now I'll have to find the name of the original source....will edit when I do! ETA Sorry...I'm going to need help here! Can't remember the name of the blogger and now, of course, I can't think of anything else. She lived on a farm (I think), was on several design teams and had some good ideas...but then went a a bit off before going quiet. I even copied her label idea for the edges of my jewel cases.... Embri -that sounds fairly easy - if only I had a laminater... Any piece of 6x6" rigid plastic will work - if you're patient enough you could probably save pieces from clamshell packaging marked #1 recycling (PETE). Be careful about sticking stamps to jewel cases. A number of people have found that their clear stamps have fused to the jewel case plastic over the years, and the stamps don't come off anymore.

I use the Avery Elle storage envelopes standing up in what I think are supposed to be DVD or photo storage boxes on shelves. They hold a lot.

Ugh, I regret putting stamps in the CD cases. I'm trying to figure out how to salvage them.

I keep mine in pockets in old PSB (zippered) binders. It works well for me since I can easily go through my huge collection of stamps fairly fast. Each binder has a certain type of stamps (i.e. beach/summer, Christmas/winter, floral, children, etc.). I can’t get PSBs anymore, so I bought a few school binders last fall.
