This afternoon I pulled out all my albums. I made a royal mess. But the real mess is me. Looking at twenty years of our lives. All documented. Book after book. First tooth to prom pictures. And it's just so overwhelming.
My daughter is turning twenty next week. And my first layout was her ultrasound pictures. And man. Some tears today. And some laughs. And just God I am so thankful for this hobby.

Yes. I feel you, as my teens would say. Especially with everything going on around us, I seem to be ever so grateful for everything that I have, perfect and imperfect!! Whenever I start rearranging albums I always get sucked into looking thru them and going down memory lane. Yes, this hobby is indeed rewarding!!

These are my kids, my life, and the moments I don't want to forget and are beautiful to me. I don't care what anyone else thinks, cause at the end of my time, it's my life and my memories, no one else's. Yes, my kids where part of them, but they will never feel and view it the way I did. I love reliving those moments.

I love seeing my kids' baby faces and all the moves and changes we've been through. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us. We get you.

I knew you guys would get it. I just loved every minute of it. And you're right Elsabelle it was a gift to me. I never knew back when I started just how much all these albums would mean to me. But now I can see it twenty years later.

I frequently pull my albums. I am so pleased that so much of my life and the lives of my loved ones are in scrapbooks. There is still so much to do but my son came home for a visit and there are many scrapbooks in his room. He told me this morning he really likes being able to look at his scrapbooks.

Scrapbooks are full of the story of our lives. Little things, big things and everything in-between. I love looking through my scrapbooks.

So glad you got to look through them all today, jeremysgirl. SOOO much is bottled up on those pages. And I am glad you recognize that although other people may love your pages--or wonder why you spend so much time creating them--that the REAL benefit is to you, the scrapbooker, who was blessed to have the opportunity to relive those years on so many levels, and can now relive them whenever you open one of those albums... I need to get started on a similar project soon. My dgd wants an album of HER life, so I need to go back to the beginning 18 years ago, pull out all the pages that feature her, then find get them copied to go into her book. I will also need to create a title page. Was hoping I could finish the book with pages about her grad festivities that were planned for early June, but not sure what I will do, now.

I always say that I am scrapbooking for my older self. Although this post reminds me that I need to get to it instead of always surfing for inspiration. I have gaps I need to fill in and important stories still needing documenting!

I pulled out my kid's memorabilia bins. I've been creating simple albums with school and sports photos, award certificates, report cards, etc. It's been so much fun. I kept a lot more stuff than I realized. DH has enjoyed seeing it all in books. Thank goodness for 3 ring albums, as I keep adding pages as I find things. So, jeremysgirl, I totally get you!
