In light of my recent dental renaissance, I want to invest in one of these type of toothbrushes. I've read reviews, and it seems fairly even. I like the idea of the Sonicare one with whitening abilities, although the color of my teeth aren't bad.
Has anyone tried both and like one better than the other? I'm going for a cleaning on Monday, so I'll ask the dental hygienist there, too.
Thanks!

I had the Oral B one, then SO got me the Sonicare. I am very prone to cavities, and since switching to Sonicare, I've never had a cavity.

Thanks! I was settled on a Sonicare, but a friend of mine who had some gum issues said that her gum doctor recommended the Oral B. Then I got confused lol.

I have not tried both, but I've been using a Sonicare for several years-- with no cavities to speak of. My girls also use Sonicare, and none of us has had cavities since we started using it. It is worth every penny.
My parents have used both brands, and they have stated that they much prefer Sonicare over Oral B.

I have an oral B and don't really like how it feels. It tickles and just doesn't feel good. Wondering if that is the same with the Sonicare?

I've had both and prefer the oral b. But I have had it several years and the new ones may be different. The (old) sonicare (10+ years ago) tickled and the oral b (prob 5 years old now) does not. I had gum problems and have had very good results with the oral b.
I think the real key is just consistent use. If you like the one you have then you will use it consistently and that's probably the real driver of your results. Check them out in the store and see which one fits your pocketbook and looks better.

Try them out first. I found I can not tolerate the vibrations. Just drives me nuts.

I've only had sonicare, but I just got the new easy clean whitening one and I love it! I have been using a sonicare since I was 27...I'm now 42. They also last forever. I'm not sure how long the OralB one lasts, but my sonicare was 10 years old and it just stopped keeping a charge the other day.

My hygenist recommends Sonicare. That's as much as I know.
I purchased one from the dentist office. Apparently Sonicare has a battery problem. First one lasted 11 months. I had the paperwork and it had a 2 year guarantee. So I called, and they sent a replacement unit. That lasted 13 months. I called and they sent a replacement. So far, so good.
My plaque problems are better using a Sonicare.

I had an oral b for 4 years and recently switched to sonicare. The switch was because it was a better deal for 2 handles with the sonicare. I don't know that I like it any better or worse. Some days I don't feel like my teeth are as clean, and I never felt like that with the oral b. I do like that the head doesn't have so many holes and 'crannies' for bacteria to live in in the sonicare, and the battery seems to last longer. I have the whitening heads and I don't think it does anything more for whitening. If I had to choose again I would go for the best deal.

I've had both. Prefer SonicCare.
