pjaye all eight squares done and yarn ends sorted (that is a first). Currently patiently waiting for tomorrow's release. This might be the first cal where I am waiting for the next part, my normal mode of operation is to be at least a month behind. I had a look at the number of parts v the number of releases and I think tomorrow might be part 2 and part 2a. 2a is the eight large rectangles, quite a lot of work.

jeremysgirl are you going to block your shawl? It's lovely and looks so snuggly. Yes, I definitely will be blocking when done. Snuggly wise it's not bad. It's made with Stylecraft Wondersoft but the sparkly thread running through it makes it not quite as soft as one would think. I love it though.

'm wondering if this fabric might be a bit much for a project bag Fabric It's slightly naughty so click at your own peril. Ha! I love the reviewer who said she'll use it for masks...and if people can see the pattern they are too close and need to move back.

I'm a bit confused about the "2A" part of the pattern as well, surely we aren't doing all 8 of those in 2 weeks? The other part 2 is just 4 squares, so that will be easy, but the big ones looks a bit intimidating and like a lot of work.

schizo319 - Your art is so good! How long have you been painting? I love to paint, too. Thank you so much! I've always been artsy, but I discovered my love for painting in college in the late 90s. I've been doing pet portraits sporadically for the last 12 years. I think I've probably done around 30.

I love Frida's Flowers in the primavera colourway - so pretty! Yes, it goes with nothing in my house but I loved the colours and the challenge so it had to be done. Jane's patterns are well written.

I'm slightly behind - have about 8 rounds across 2 squares to finish, and ends to sew in on most (although only half as I do an invisible join when changing colours, so I do sew in those ends immediately). The big 2A pieces will be worked a bit at a time across several parts, starting from tomorrow's release - this is what it said in part one:

I finished the front of my sweater yesterday. I love the lacework, but it was crazy to knit. Beautiful! And I agree with jeremysgirl - the color is awesome. ----------- Here's a basket update from me... I finished the little red basket. I like my design idea but the execution was terrible. It is not shaped correctly - something I struggle with as you'll see in the next basket photo as well. And here's the new basket. It's going to be a big one - around 16" or so wide and probably that tall! For reference, the little red one (which you can see in the photo below) is 5" tall. So back to the shaping issue... My basket is the pink/natural and my mom's is the burgundy/natural. Her basket is shaped correctly - see how it just continues to get a little wider with each consecutive row? Mine, however, starts pulling in too soon. I'm sure it will look ok in the end - but I do wish I was better at that part. She does have a lot more experience than I do! Below is a photo - from the etsy shop where we bought the pattern - of what the basket should look like when we are done. This one is a double-walled basket, so the inside has a different design than the outside. You weave the inside wall first, then the outside. Which explains why our baskets in their current state look nothing like the one below!

lainey a nice representation of size and colour on that fabric. Maybe you can start crocheting a budgie smuggler for Dh. That would make a perfect project bag.

I think I've probably done around 30. Wow, that is so cool that you have found a niche for pet paintings. I started learning to draw and paint less than 10 years ago. I am self taught with the help of lots of YouTube videos & other videos, my husband's art book and an art class at the YMCA. I love it and hope to grow more in my art. I have some art posted on my blog if you are interested. (link below) I finished the front of my sweater yesterday. I love the lacework, but it was crazy to knit. Gorgeous! Yes, that lacework is so good. Great job! I finished the little red basket. I like my design idea but the execution was terrible. Girl, you work is incredible! I love your designs and style. Thanks so much! But just to be clear - I can't always take credit for the design. Sometimes I totally make up a basket - design and materials - as I go (the red one), sometimes I see a photo of a basket online that I try to copy - or at least use as inspiration (the josephine knot/multi color basket), sometimes I use a pattern but choose my own colors, etc. (the current double wall), and sometimes I use a kit that comes with the pattern and all materials (the teal/natural rib basket with the fancy handle). The weaving itself is all mine though!

JoP Aldi has fabric? I have never seen it at my store. Cute, and I love the camera fabric too. @patter I’m in the UK and they have it as part of their weekly craft specials from time to time. I'm in Australia and it occasionally appears as a weekly special.

Ruby snuggling with my WIP. He can be such an affectionate cat he has to be peeled off me when the mood takes him. There was much purring and very little crocheting.

It's beautiful sueg ! And that color is to die for! Thank you. And also @patter , jennifercw and kellyr21 The yarn is Wollmeise Pure, color La Ola, and it is just lovely to knit and the color cheers me up. Best of all - I bought 4 skeins, and will only use 3 at most, so I will be able to make a small sweater for a special little girl from the leftovers!

I could not see with my untrained eye the difference between the set up of your basket and your mom's. I think you do a fabulous job. And I think it's nice that you share this hobby with your mom. I wish my daughter crocheted like me. She's only 20 so maybe someday.

I need to just relax and be fine with my baskets not turning out exactly how I had envisioned, or how a pattern calls for them to. I hope your daughter does take up crocheting some day! I didn't learn to weave baskets until I was 40 - and that was about 20 years after my mom learned to weave! So there is always time...

Good morning guys! I don't want to work today. I want to finish my shawl. And if I didn't have to work, I would have the time to. Being a responsible human being definitely sucks sometimes. I found this meme yesterday and I thought it was cool. I had read years ago that Amish women purposely make a mistake on their quilts because they believe that only God is perfect. So I admit that ever since hearing that, I always leave one mistake behind in my projects. How about you? Are you a perfectionist? Or do you just roll with your mistakes?
