I'm thinking about what I want for Mother's Day and it's trifle. I'm thinking a fruit like strawberries soaked in some kind of booze, but I could be convinced to change to chocolate. Anybody got a great recipe?

Chocolate cake drizzle 1/3 cup Kahlua over it (can omit), chocolate pudding layer (use half the milk), whip cream layer, skor bits, repeat.
Chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, whip cream, repeat.
Any cake, any pudding, crushed candy, whip cream, repeat - kids love this.

Mine is chocolate ... Layer devil's food cake crumbled up ... layer of chocolate pudding ... layer of whippped cream or what I use is Cool Whip because it has more body ... layer of broken up frozen Skor bar pieces (you could use any great chocolate bar but this is amazing) ... keep layering ... sprinkle Skor pieces on top! It's delicious

Apparently there is a pea story that happened before I joined this merry band. Please let the newcomers know.

It's from a Friends Thanksgiving episode. Rachel tries to make a trifle and gets two recipes mixed up.

I made a good one for our bookclub, the theme was British food with lots of alcohol! It was an orange & prosecco (champagne) flavour
The recipe used left over panettone from Christmas but you could use any cake or even brioche - cut into inch cubes, drizzle generously with Grand Marnier I made an orange jello with prosecco the day before and cut that into cubes as well, then added a layer of jello cubes over the cake cubes Then a layer of vanilla bean custard (pudding) then mandarin segments...I used tinned, but you can use fresh, but for this recipe I think tinned works well because they are really soft and juicy, then another layer of jello cubes and then fresh whipped cream and decorated with more mandarin segments and some orange zest and chocolate shavings.
Very boozy and very delicious.

I made a Pina colada/tropical trifle for a church function and it was a big hit. I used yellow cake and drizzled it with a simple syrup made with sugar and the juice from a can of crushed pineapple (cooked down until it becomes a syrup) then added some of the crushed pineapple and some whipped cream. Make 2 or 3 layers like this and then top the whole thing with toasted coconut.

I confused trifle for truffle.
I'm going to show myself out.
