joblackford, boymom5, natscraps, teacherlisa, justjac, ComplicatedLady, azcrafty, AussieMeg, Linda, lynnek, Neisey, gmcwife1 Happy May! Happy iNSD MONTH! iNSD is one of my favorite weekends. There's so much creative energy buzzing around the board and I love it! I have so many projects whirling around in my head that I'm not sure where to start. Which is nothing new for me. My scrappy eyes are definitely bigger than my capabilities lol. Here's to as productive a month as you want it to be. No pressure! I've also done a fair bit of shopping and want to dig right into the new stash instead of setting it aside in favor of the less than new. Does anyone else do that or it is just me? It can make cutting into some pretty paper less intimidating if it's not " new new". Here's to as productive a month as you want it to be. No pressure!

iNSD is just about over for me already. It's 10pm Sunday. Where did the weekend go? I am trying to finish off a couple of pages so I can claim double points. I didn't get as much done this weekend as I had planned. I wasted far too much time on Saturday shopping, as all the digital sites had big sales on. Enjoy your Sunday everyone! I've also done a fair bit of shopping and want to dig right into the new stash instead of setting it aside in favor of the less than new. Does anyone else do that or it is just me? All the time!! The layout that I just completed was done using a brand new purchase. I tried to use some old products, but just kept coming back to my new goodies.

ahhhhhh I've wasted a LOT of time shopping as well! I swear it's my favorite part of the hobby until I actually get to scrapping and then the urge to shop goes away - hmmm, I should maybe switch those up. But new pretty paper is so fun! lol.

Hello! Yes, I am loving this weekend. I did a fair share of scrapping Friday and Saturday. I went to bed last night with an almost done layout on my desk. It was not flowing the way I wanted so I thought I would leave it until this morning to see if inspiration hits. Hm, not so much, but I am going to finish it up and move on. I have most of the Friday challenges done and a few of the Saturday challenges done. Need to check out the Sunday challenges. The boys in my family just left for a day of fishing so I am ready to scrap!!

I'm loving the iNSD crop. I've gotten the Friday challenges and most of the Saturday done so far - need to check out the Sunday ones. My family is being great about letting me scrap. I've been switching back and forth between my 2009 Disney album and current pages.
no shopping - I've really not been in a shopping mood this year - I'm well stocked - my little scrap space is bulging at the seams -and other than restocking adhesive and white cardstock back in March, I've not shopped or been tempted to

Wow, you guys got lots of challenges done! I have completed one lol. I take way too long making decisions. But I also enjoy the putzing around and just playing. My time was split between the crop at SG with my mom and niece and the crop here. In a normal year, my mom and I drive to my nieces to hotel scrap and shop in person at SG. My niece is local to them. This year it all done on hangouts. We cropped for 7 hours Saturday! That's got to be a record for me lol. My space is bulging and there is more on the way. I think I have a shopping hangover now lol. I'm ready to put the brakes on and just make things. I need to figure out how to get my pea badge too! Those are the cutest AussieMeg!

I had a great weekend completing challenges. I hope to get to the rest of them as the month goes. I had to take a break and work yesterday. LOL! Today I have been making card kits for my mom and her friends to do. They are enjoying having something to do while isolating. I hope to make a few more of those today and then work on Mother's Day cards for my mom and aunts. I am going to take a stab at the photo college card that Karen Burnison has. Hope I can do it.

Good morning I was able to complete 18 Christmas cards over the weekend, so double points for them! I was good and didn’t do too much shopping this weekend. But, this morning I sat down at my desk for work, turned on the TV, went to my menu to put Law and Order SVU on, I saw I was auto taping HSN and turned them on. Three purchases later I’m now watching SVU instead!

Hey all. I somehow missed this thread over the weekend! Too much iNSDing I guess.
I made a big old mess in my house over the weekend, scrapbooking with paper instead of pixels, so when I got up Monday morning and walked through the dining room (my creative space and the center of the house that every room feeds off) I was overwhelmed and horrified. Where does all the stuff come from?! So I spent yesterday making a giant brain dump list of all the things that needed to be put right. I didn't expect to get much done, but I actually ended the day with tons of things crossed off. Admittedly when I thought of another thing and did it I added it to the list so I could cross it off too!
The first thing I did was pack all the virus diaries mess into an Iris case. That felt really good. I want to have done a lot more than I can, but I'm in it for the long haul (I'm going to be mostly home till there's a vaccine, wheeze wheeze, stupid asthma) so I'm being patient with myself.
One of the things that was taking up mental space was donation cards. I follow some very productive crafters (who admittedly may be furloughed or retired) and I keep kicking myself that I don't have more cards to send to Bring Smiles to Seniors. So I tracked down a flat rate box and packed it, and once I have the envelopes added I will have a decent quantity to mail. 124 cards currently, although I'm going to try to get some more done before the envelopes arrive. I do well with deadlines!
I have so many things I "should" and want to work on, but again, giving myself a bit of space.
The park across the street reopened today and I'm looking forward to my first evening walk around it since late March. Gotta do it before dumbasses start congregating and they barricade it again!

I’ve been working on a March TN kit and I finished it today! I was not a fan of the kit—it was very floral/pink/light green, so maybe not the best March Covid experience kit, but it was the March TN kit that I started and had to work with. I made it work though. Started March with spring break plans and ended with working from home and school cancelled for the rest of the school year. Not exactly pink floral spring happiness—lol. I have to admit though, I’m glad it’s done and I can start to use another kit. I’m going to choose a few items from the kit that I may use again, but this might be the first kit I actually get rid of!!

You all have been busy busy! I'm going to do a COVID TN as well. I'm just waiting on some papers I preordered for it. I'm pretty sure it's something I will continue to document as for awhile longer. gmcwife1 3 purchases later sounds exactly like my iNSD shopping. Oy! I have a lot of stuff on the way! But it's all pretty and I like it joblackford my craft space is my dining room, so right out in the open too. It's not a good vibe when my table is a mess, which is most of the time. I get overwhelmed by it sometimes. But the alternative is to move it back into my office which isn't an alternative. After spending 40+ hours a week in there, I don't want to spend my time off in there as well, and the mess of the craft supplies is too much and a distraction (not in a good way) too. So the dining room it is, and I'm just going to have become neater lol. I actually have 4 LOs done this month which is a record for me! I'm hoping to keep that going. I want to try and complete all the crop challenges and I have several from the SG crop I want to do as well, so I'll be trying to combine those when possible. Our slow statewide reopen has been "all businesses can open up, and no limit on groups" um, sounds like before the pandemic, no thanks. I will continue to hunker down for a long while. I can't see myself being comfortable out and about in the crowds any time soon. I have a bridal shower for my niece next month and her wedding is next month too, and I'm leery about attending either of them. I'm not sure who was able to join in any of the hangout crops last weekend, but our gracious virtual crop hostess msliz is working to make those a regular thing. The more often I join in, the less I like scrapping by myself lol.

Fun to hear the virtual crops may become a regular thing. I only dropped in twice, but it was fun to get to actually see people instead of just seeing them by their avatar. LOL! joblackford - 124 cards sounds like a lot to me! I think it is so generous that you do that! My mom was an administrator at a continuing care facility and she was always so appreciative that people did things like make card for the residents. I enjoy seeing your across the street park on Instagram. I have never shopped on HSN before, but I have been really inspired by Heidi Swapp and the little video clips she has been doing with her new lines on Instagram. So, I ordered some of her kits from HSN the other day. I think, maybe, I will use it for my COVID album. You made it look doable joblackford, so once I get them, I hope to jump in.

Happy Mother's Day to those of you who are mothers! Today the weather here is perfect for outdoor things. BBQ, a day at the park, all the things I'm not doing right now. I would love to get out for a walk but I'm too lazy to drive somewhere to do it lol. I live surrounded by steep hills and I am not in shape to take them on I've been trying all week to get myself going on another page. I'm not sure why I resist it so much, but getting started is a huge block. It's so easy to see things that need done around here or hop on the internet 'for a minute' and then the time I could have worked on something is gone. I did notice last weekend, that if I commit to video scrapping, either by hosting, or setting up a time with my family, I will show up and I will scrap. But if I'm relying on myself, it's a fight. I can't remember which of the tendencies that is from Gretchen Rubens book. I never finished it lol. I hope everyone is having an awesome Sunday!

Man, time really slips away so fast right now... Hope you all had a nice weekend. But can anyone tell me how it’s already the end of Tuesday? I Covid-crafted hard Saturday, puttered on Sunday, even though I had a few hours to myself while hubby delivered a gift and a meal to his mother. One good thing right now, I don’t have to visit my crazy MIL! I enjoyed watching the Miss Fisher movie instead. Long overdue. Yesterday I just had bites of time so I played with some fun Doodlebug cut aparts. Today I had all day and I felt like I should “get back to work” so I worked with weird Tim Holtz hipster animals (for Father’s Day). Making progress, but alphabet stamping can be very frustrating and I’m out of patience for today. I might quickly stamp a couple of the chimp and bird hipsters so I’ll have an fun place to start tomorrow. I just remembered I left a card sandwiched under a heavy tray waiting for the glue to dry/trying to keep it flat so I better retrieve that or I’ll forget it’s there. I hope you love your HS stuff lynnek I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with it. joyfulnana it’s hard when the weather is calling you out but you’re stuck at home. I think you’re an Obliger... thriving on external rewards and accountability. It’s good that the online crops help you get stuff done. I don’t think they’d work for me at all. I tend to put on an audiobook so I forget I’m working and about everything else I could be doing. Right now I’m listening to Little Women.

joblackford Little Women is one my favorite books of all time! I got a copy from my mom in like 5th grade. I still have it, even though the cover is barely hanging on by a thread lol I can't listen to audiobooks while I'm scrapping. I can't focus on both, so I end up focused on the page, and miss the book lol. I guess I'm multitask challenged lol. Oh yeah, I KNOW I am lol. Yes! Obliger! That's me! lol. lynnek I've never shopped at HSN either, but it seems I'm hearing about HS's new lines. I'm going to have to check those out. I seem to recall they are something like her Story lines? I'm really finding myself drawn to smaller size albums again. As more states start opening up, work is picking up. Which is good but I really hate our busy season lol. I have a son that I haven't seen since Christmas that wants to hang out, and a bridal shower and wedding within two weeks of each other next month - her shower was postponed due to the stay home orders. And I'm just not ready to be out mingling amongst people yet! I've said yes to it all, but may have to renege on that. IDK, maybe in a month I will feel better about things. It's all such a bad catch-22! It doesn't help that the place the wedding and shower are being held is the #3 place in the nation where cases are surging and that my county is #2 on "locations to watch".

I can't listen to audiobooks while I'm scrapping. I can't focus on both, so I end up focused on the page, and miss the book lol. I guess I'm multitask challenged lol. I am too, if there are words involved. I can only listen while I do the visual parts. Once there are competing words I have to choose one or the other. When I'm just stamping or cardmaking the audiobook helps with focus. Audiobooks only work for me with walking, cooking, gardening, crochet, coloring, and stamping. I can't listen to them if I don't have my hands or feet busy. It took me a long time to figure that out, but now I can ready twice as much I didn't like Little Women when I read it as a kid although I did like Jo, as kids tend to like other kids named the same as them, and I was also more of a tomboy. But I don't think I was ready for a character to die when I read it and the cultural and historical context was completely foreign to me (as it should've been as a kid in NZ). I loved the most recent movie though, and I get the context now, so I can enjoy it in a completely different way. Sorry to hear you're in the midst of that catch-22. I think people are sick of restrictions and rushing too fast... I hope that things look better in a month but honestly I think in most places it will be worse. That 2-3 week delay in cases is going to bite a lot of people in the butt, I'm afraid. Have you read the blog post about what kind of contacts are most risky - it was an analysis of some restaurant and event clusters by Erin Bromage. It's here if you want to read it. www.erinbromage.com/post/the-risks-know-them-avoid-them That's helping me assess the risks and unless the events are being held outside I would personally not attend either. It's awful for everyone, and you must miss your family terribly...

Thanks for the link joblackford. I saw a clip of his on CNN earlier saying the same thing. I was beginning to come to that conclusion on my own, just based on the news and my trips out. It transmits very similarly to the flu, but just quicker and meaner lol. I'm supposed to be going to We Create in September, but honestly, I can't think of a better way to get this than to be in confined space with 300 people I don't know for 3 days I really hate the way it's taken over our lives. On a happier note is anyone going to try to complete all of the crop challenges, or may you already HAVE for the 100 extra points? I'm still working on them, I really want to get those points! I have too many new supplies and I need to start using them up!

I've been so bad lately at even looking at the challenges... I guess that's OK right? They're there if we need/want/enjoy them. Ever since we got the easy points calculation I have been especially bad...
But I'm still making cards and pages, still crocheting every evening, still tidying up.
Good luck with those challenges! Using up/making a dent in supplies is a great feeling.

joyfulnana - What a dilemma with a shower and wedding that should be such great times, but feeling like you are not sure about the whole situation. I totally get that torn feeling! We are feeling that a lot right now too. I don't know what the answers are. I got my Heidi Swapp stuff from HSN yesterday. I like it! I am hoping to get my work done this morning and then play a bit this afternoon. I have not scrapbooked at all this week. I was feeling behind on my reading so I have been reading instead. I just need to decide what I am going to start in the Heidi Swapp books. A Covis album probably, but not sure what else.

How's it going! I have not scrapped now for a week. I had one page that I have been fiddling with, it only needed the journaling. I got that done Saturday, but I just don't like the page so that one has been torn apart and waiting for a re-do lol. I wasn't happy with the way it had been going anyway, but I have a better idea of what I want to do with it now.
I've also completely torn up my apartment with rearranging and building cube sets to store my albums. I have quite a few pages planned, but they are all waiting for things from my SG bank-it jail which I'm hoping will ship this week!

I haven't been on here much this month! Things have been so busy for me that little scrapping has been done! But on my bday a couple of days ago, my DH surprised me by finding a somewhat local LSS and took me there! It was so fun to be shopping in an actual store and has motivated me to scrap a bit more. I'm hoping to get organized again for this weekend.

I'e been a terrible team player this month...my mojo keeps disappearing (not just for crafting but in general). I also haven't been feeling well - nothing major just caffeine withdrawal and then some big blood sugar swings - I had a low of 43 the other night that took over 2 hours to bring up and left me feeling yucky all the next day.
I have several in-progress projects and am hoping to get them done before month's end....we'll see

I'm excited to see what you do with the HS albums lynnek Starting is always the hardest part, and especially when you can't rearrange the pages as you go. But hopefully you can just go for it. The nice thing about a notebook/album is that once you get it done the sum of the whole makes up for any less-than-stellar parts - at least that's what I tell myself every time I work on mine! joyfulnana sometimes you just have to rip everything apart to get to the good stuff, right? Hope that's going well. I'm on day 3 of turning some old Jen Hadfield supplies into another big pile of cards. Day 3 is my limit - I'm well and truly sick of the mess and I need to push through and get them done today so I can clean up and do something else. I've been having unpleasant anxiety dreams and woke up with a rotten neck and headache but the coffee and Tylenol is kicking in now. I'm going to have some lunch and put on a podcast and push through! I'm so excited to finally be almost done with these supplies...

Thanks joblackford - today was a good day - physically and mentally - yay! I managed to finish up a set of 50 postcards and scan 2 photo albums. Ronacoaster is a good word for it. My area is reopening with enthusiasm...I'm staying safer AT home for now except my once a week, with a mask, grocery shopping. I think cases are going to increase very soon in my area (my state is already seeing an increase since reopening started)

joblackford - Well, I did one page to start. I decided to use one album for lots of random pictures that my daughter takes. I basically copied the start of one of Heidi Swapp's albums. You had some metallic watercolors that you used a while back so when my LSS had some, I got them. I used them and a new stamp on the first page and that was fun! I loved the watercolors! Linda - Wow! Once you got started, you produced! That is impressive! Way to go! I just got the new Suzanne Collins book that is a prequel to Hunger Games, so I am guessing I will do more reading than scrapping this weekend, but who knows.

Hey ladies! omg Ronacoaster! I LOVE it!! lol. It does feel that way. March lasted for what felt like a year and then boom! It's almost June. It's like we are in some weird time warp. There's definitely a Mad Max feel to things, to me anyway. My state is only adding to that feeling what with all the national headlines we are making - the stylists that exposed 150 people - the "social distancing" going on at Lake of the Ozarks. I'm staying safe AT home too. I have my 2 or 3 places I venture to since the lockdowns and I'm not expanding that anytime soon. Except to see DS2 next weekend. I haven't seen him since Christmas, and I'm even leery of opening up my bubble even that much. Linda - I hope you are feeling better! I haven't been to the sharing thread yet, but from the sounds of it your mojo came back! joblackford, every time I see your cards, I want to be a card maker. It's hard to juggle all the things I want to do for sure. I'm getting caught up in a lot of "future projects" buying which isn't helping at all. I really want my stash to be getting smaller, not growing like a kid having a growth spurt! I'm going to do a hangouts scrap with my mom today. I really am getting to where I hate scrapping alone now with all the video scrapping that's been going on. It's the best of both worlds. Having someone to chat with and not having to pack or unpack!
|

It's hard to juggle all the things I want to do for sure. uhh, There are so many more things I want to do! (Like probably everyone) I'm trying to juggle all the things I want to do, and all the things I have to do, and plenty of things I "should" do, and in the end it's just easier not to do any of it! lol. At least not until the very last minute. I used to be so laid back. I'm not sure what happened. I don't have any kids, I'm self employed, I live a life of great privilege... I don't know what happened to my brain that made me feel like I don't have time for anything. I try to give myself credit for all the stuff I do as part of my basic routine. Even if I spend all day online I still make meals and journal and practice drawing (100 day project) and crochet a bit, and usually a few other things besides. But sometimes I get so frustrated at the end of the week wondering whether the stuff I got done was actually what I should've been doing, and wondering where the hours disappear to. Like today - this morning's task was to get the mail ready and take it to the post office. At 2:30 I got home and wondered how it took me all morning and half of the afternoon to post some cards... ?! OK, I had to write 3 letters and walk to the post office and stand in line for 20 minutes because I stupidly went at lunchtime the day after a long weekend. But really? It's almost 3 now and I feel like I haven't done anything! There are so many other things I want to do, but I also would like to feel like I had a lot less to do all the time. I better stop complaining about how much time everything takes and go do some things I guess I should figure out what I wanted to get done today... or maybe I'll just go read a book... Might have to write myself an excuse note for when my brain says "what did you even do all week?!"
