Craftstash has a preorder of the TH/Tonic platform w/bonus sleeve and with postage to the US, it will be under $50. Wondering if that's the best route to go or should I try something else?

I love my Tim Holtz platform, but the Stampin’ Up platform is good, too. I have both. If you do multi layer stamping, get the SU version. If not, go for the TH one from Craft Stash.

I’ve been looking for the travel platform for some time. Any good replacement other than the misti?

I have the TH mini platform & love it. I use it all the time. It’s easy, quick & portable.
I’ve used a misti at the scrap store & felt it was flimsy & the hinge felt wobbly but it wasn’t broken even with a whole multiple classes using it. ( & I don’t enjoy saying that ) But I found it odd the hinge was wobbly when the TH hinge literally comes out & flips but is not wobbly when placed right. But I will not buy a misti due to the owner.
I have the WRMK one, I've had no problems with the pegs that others have had, but I reach for the TH one more. The WRMK one seems to have more plates to do things I don’t really do. If I were to do a repetitive mass produce of multi stamp cards that is when I dig out the WRMK one and set stamps on multiple top plates once and not have to re set the stamps for each card.
I have no other experience with stamp positioners.

Love TH platforms! Find it more flexible with paper size and keep in case. Have & use both regularly. Highly recommend.

I love the TH mini. It has open sides so can accommodate larger paper but is easier to store. You can use rubber cling-mounted or clear stamps with it. It is good quality, very sturdy.

I have the TH Tonic stamping platform, a WRMK one with a hinged lid (before they're forced to pull from stores due to the Petunia lawsuit) and had an old Fiskars one with the foam feet that squished down. I like the TH platform and it works well. I like that I can switch the lid between thin clear stamps and thicker red rubber.

Thanks. I think TH is the one I'll go with. The mini/travel version doesn't seem like it's available any more. Is there a difference between the current full sized version and the one pre Misti lawsuit?

I have the WRMK one with the pegs. I like it just fine. Did people not like it? I got it at TM for 14.99.

Plenty of options on Australian websites and with the AUD low they would be a bargain even with shipping Try craftonline.com.au

Craft online has a US site as well and I had originally considered the Studio Light press when I thought the TH was no longer being sold. The only thing that was holding me back was the size is small and may be limiting.

While I don't stamp on every layout & prefer wood-mounted rubber stamps, I bought this inexpensive stamp positioner to use with my relatively few clear stamps. It allows me to stamp twice (or more) in hopes of getting a crisp/dark/decent image/words from clear stamps, especially the cheap acrylic sets from brands under the AC umbrella (which I won't pay more than $2.99/each for at TM). Best wishes with your search...

Just watched a video comparison of the WRMK and TH. Wow, the WRMK is pretty neat especially when it comes to layering stamps. Not having a hinge definitely has its benefits. Will add that to my list of contenders. ETA video with comparison:

Will add that to my list of contenders. Per the $14.99 TM price tag, the item number for the "Tool Precision Press" from 08/2019 is 2175783. Hope it's still in stock at your local TM store, if available in your area & open.

I'll definitely check once our stores open back up. Our area is SIP through the end of the month so stores are still closed.

I have 2 top plates so I can use 4 stamps per card without having to reset stamps for mass production

I started with the MISTI, and last year I got the Stamparatus because I have a bunch of Altenew layering stamps, and the fact that the Stamparatus has two reversible plates speeds the layering process up a lot. I also like the fact that there are multiple hinges so I can stamp gradient style down my card front and it has open sides also. MISTI is on a shelf now, I absolutely love my Stamparatus!

I have Tim's full size one. I have the WRMK peg one. I love them both. I use Tim's for a lot of my artistic and bulk stamping sessions.
Amazon has several generic platform's for good prices.

I have way more of these things than any sensible woman should (but I never really claimed to be sensible). There are a couple of various sizes I made myself, the Hampton Arts clone, both sizes of the Tim Holtz platform, the WRMK with the pegs and the Lifestyle Crafts letterpress set (pre-MISTI), and the Stamparatus. If I had to get rid of all but one, I'd keep the Stamparatus, because I do think that Stampin' Up got it right. Actually, if someone told me I had to get rid of all but one, I'd get rid of the person who told me that, because I like having options. My biggest disappointment with the WRMK peg system is that the typeset plate (the one where you can insert your own letters) isn't compatible with my Just Rite stamps - the grooves aren't the same size/spacing. I was really hoping

The Stamparatus sounds great, but looks like I have to go through a demonstrator to purchase and pay shipping, etc. Sounds like the WRMK would be the best bang for the buck. 🤔

If you don't mind me tagging onto this thread, I need a recommendation for a stamp platform for slimline stamps (at least 8.5 inches). I have a Stamparatus but it's too small and I won't support MSP for anything so the MISTI is out. Is the TH one large enough for the Pinkfresh stamps I have? I can get my brother to send me one from the UK but I don't want to ask if it's not going to work. I don't want to make my own and I would like to be able to restamp the image. Currently I use an acrylic plate from my die cutting machine as a block. Thanks in advance.

The full size tim holtz has a stamping area of just 8 1/2 inches, so that would work, but not on anything bigger. The only other one that large would be the scrapbook size Misti; the regular one won't fit 8 1/2". Another option would be the one that works with the Wendy Vecchi Staytion from ranger. The staytion is a metal base and the stamp positioner that works with it is like the old school Stampamagig with magnets. The positioner doesn't move and it really works pretty well. Just a little different process than a hinged platform. It would work with any magnetic metal base, you wouldn't need the staytion piece, and that would allow unlimited size stamps.

I have both sizes of TH - love them. Like being able to put larger sheet of paper inside. Surprisingly I use the larger one more often,

I love my TH one. With the WRMK one, it looks like the little feet on the corners would limit the paper size you can use - is that true?
