Anyone have the Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer? Should we buy them? We need a new washer/dryer pair for our new house, the reviews look pretty good, but we all know the Peas know best.

Are these the front loader? If so, I have had my pair for maybe 5 years or more. My set isn't as big as other front loaders which is perfect for my family. I will have to run a bleach cycle every so often to clean it. I sometimes have trouble when I try to wash too many thick towels.

We have used ours into the ground. We finally had to replace the washing machine. We bought the same kind again. Love them stacked.

Mine is 10 years old never had a problem I say go for it We have a 9 year old front loading set, and I love them. The only issue we had was just a few weeks ago, when the heating element went out on the dryer. When I went to the appliance store to get the part to fix it, the repair guy said we had one of the best models made. He said they do very few repairs on them.

Love ours! We built our house in 2001 and put in a Kenmore set. 3 yrs later, the washer died, and the tech said it would be cheaper to replace it to fix, so we did, with another Kenmore. 2 yrs later, it died as well. That time we asked the tech what he would buy and he said the Whirpool Duet, and looked at Consumer Reports where they were rated really high, and we bought these. Couldn't be happier!

I don't know about the duet, but we bought the Whirpool Cabro platinum set last month, and I LOVE them. I will never go back to a front loader ever ever again.

It was really popular when we bought our front loaders about five years ago. It was not as large as we wanted so we bought Samsung and they have worked without a problem.

We've had them for the past decade and they are going strong. I recommend them but, truthfully, have no idea what else has come out in the washer/dryer market.

I have the Duet Sport front loaders and I love them... Not sure if they've changed it - mine are from 2006, but the only PITA is having to take the front bottom panel off the washer to clean out the trap that catches pennies and other stuff... Wouldn't stop me from buying them again, but would hope they've made that bit of cleaning/upkeep a bit easier to access...

We have a large LG front loading set that I LOVE! We've had them almost two years now with no problems whatsoever. With two teenage boys, I needed a larger capacity washer and this set fits the bill.
