I was scheduled for a hair cut the Monday our state went into lockdown, March 15th I think? And obviously it is going to be awhile before I get it cut again, and it is driving me bonkers.
My hair is curly, about chin length in the front and w as as short in the back. I don’t know what is going on with my cursor, I can’t get rid of the weird w as thing above, sorry. In an event I had a small amount of bangs and one side was slightly shorter then the other. Sounds awful, but I promise it was pretty cute. My hair is the only thing I don’t hate on myself, and it is my one vanity. Right now though it is getting more and more difficult to manage and I don’t know how to contain it. Right now it feels like it is standing straight up. What all can I do to make it presentable when I do videos for my students and to make it not feel crazy?
My hair just went curly about 5 years ago, so frankly, I am still not used to it.
Thanks for any advice.

Do you use mousse? Would bobby pins, barrettes, or headband be helpful? Side braid with longer bangs?

I have about the same length fine thin curly hair. I swear by Verb Ghost Oil. You only need a teeny tiny drop. Not even a pea size. Put a small small small amount in your palm. Rub you hands together- then disperse thru the hair. Any reviews that are saying it’s too heavy or oily are using too much. Start out with a very small amount.
It makes my hair smooth and soft. Love, love it. The only caveat is that some people don’t like the smell. I do like it, and I find it fades very quickly.

Maybe I just need more because of the amount of additional hair? I will try that tomorrow. I thought about barrettes, but I don’t know how to wear them. I grew up in the Dorothy Hamill hair era, so my hair has always been shorter then shoulder length. It isn’t terribly long now, it just there is too much of it!

MichyM has super cute short curly hair in her pic, may be she has some tips? Her hair is a dream, isn’t it? Mine is a bit shorter and not as tightly curly, but hopefully she will chime in. We are in the same state, so she probably hasn’t gotten a hair cut either. I worry in a month I will look like Monica on friends when she was in the humidity.

What about one of Patter’s hair accessories she’s making to go with her masks? It’s super cute. Would probably look great with your curls.

Skellinton I bought a stretchy wide band head band thing from Etsy, sometimes called a yoga band I'm told, to try to cover my roots. It would look cute if I had fuller hair but my hair is way too thin. You can scrunch it up to make it more like a headband or stretch it to be more turban like. If you want it I will send it to you. It's beige. I could mail it tomorrow

Have you tried oil? I use the original moroccanoil. It takes out a lot of the frizz. Or if you have a hair straightener (or can borrow one) then try straightening it.
My hair sounds a bit shorter than yours, but I straighten it when I go to work. People say curly hair is so pretty and I agree - but if you have curly /frizzy hair or if the curl is uneven it can take a LOT of work to make it look good, and straightening it is just the easier option.

My hair isn’t frizzy because I do wear a bit of coconut oil, but there is just too much of it right now! I have never tried Moroccan oil, is it easier to use then coconut oil? I don’t mean that using coconut oil is difficult, but it is so easy to get too much and my hair looks super greasy. I only put it on at night because of that. I am scared to straighten it, as I said it just went curly one day and I am scared to make it angry lest it go straight again, permanently.

You know this is useless without pictures. 😉 Ha! If I were as cute as you I would post a picture with my mad scientist hair, but I hate having my picture taken when my hair looks good, so you ladies aren’t going to get to see me looking like a crazy person. Imagine a cross between Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd and as the Mad Hatter and that will pretty much be it, just in brown. It is quite something.
