Since I mentioned this on the Amazon thread, I thought maybe we could do a thread on recommendations for fluff books. By fluff, I just mean something entertaining that is engaging but not requiring a ton of brain cells, but any genre is welcome. I just read Above the Bay of Angels by Rhys Bowen and really enjoyed it. A fiction novel set in Victorian times with an unusual heroine and a touch of mystery, but nothing too heavy.

The Kiss Quotient. Such a fun, and steamy, book. Forget 50 Shades of Gray.....

Gretchen Archer, who does a fantastic series about a detective of sorts who works for a casino has a new one coming out in June. She's very similar to the Janet Evanovich stuff, where the female protagonist gets in over her head, but has a heart of gold. look for the Davis Way mysteries.
For those of who who like paranormal, Jim Butcher's new Dresden book is also coming out soon - July I believe. that one is going to be drop what I'm doing and read.

I just finished The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan (of gofugyourself.com) and Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory. Both were fun and entertaining and I'd recommend them. Same with The Royal We by Heather & Jessica and the rest of The Wedding Date series by Jasmine.

A couple "new to me" Authors that I've loved the books, are Shelley Noble and T.I. Lowe. Both are small beach town type stories. Several of the books are part of a series, where the characters are the same in each book, but each book focuses more on one of the characters and the story revolves around "their story". I've read several books by both Authors and have loved them all. I have their other books on my "to read" list. Both are very similar to Danielle Steel type stories, except they all take place in small beach towns.

It’s not a novel but I really enjoyed Reese Witherspoons book (and I repeatedly will go back and peruse various sections:
Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking Biscuits
Novel wise I really enjoyed “Ask Again, Yes” and my whole book club liked it. The topic isn’t light but I consider it kind of a fluff read.

It was on sale recently for $4.99 (reg 13.99) so I grabbed it.

The topic isn’t light but I consider it kind of a fluff read. I just want to say that I've been struggling through Ask Again, Yes. I'm saying I'm identifying with the mother in a lot of ways and it's been very difficult for me to wrap my brain around her actions and reconcile that with the fact that I have mental illness. I don't want to give the story away but I'm saying, it doesn't feel like fluff to me.

The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley
"The story of a solitary green notebook that brings together six strangers and leads to unexpected friendship, and even love"
This was a really easy, enjoyable read.

Another book - probably more fluff is “The Little French Bistro” - about self discovery and “new beginnings” in an adorable French town on the coast of Brittany

I just mentioned “The Story of Arthur Truluv” by Elizabeth Berg on the reading thread. Such a sweet story with a good ending, an easy read.
