OMG, I just pulled a pan of brownies from a mix out of my oven and my place smells a-mazing! At the very begining of the pandemic I bought a box of Betty Crocker and tucked it away "just in case." Apparently I hit the wall and today is "just in case." I only bake at the holidays or a special occasion. I never do boxed, but boy this is a great throwback to childhood. Comfort food I guess What did you do today that you haven't done in a very long time?

I spent the entire day at the office working. It has been over 6 weeks since I last did that. I have come in for an hour here and there for webinars that my system at home wont support. But today I spent the entire day -- light, a desk to spread paperwork on, a comfy chair.

Brownie mix was something I made sure to grab back then too! I haven't made mine yet, but when I went out yesterday I bought some fudge brownie flavor m&ms at Target and I have been putting a serious hurt on those guys today.

I thought about wearing my hair down. Turns out our temperature today was in the 90s, so I didn't do it. 😀

I left the house, put makeup on, wore real clothes, AND saw some friends! I went grocery shopping today, saw two friends from book club and the librarian. It was so fun to see people! It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve been to the grocery store, so I was happy. Plus, I think we decided to do Reading With Emma online. She was supposed to start as a reading buddy last month, so this will be fun.

I raked the yard.
AND
Sat on my butt for 3 straight hours watching Netflix (Unorthodox). Normally I take breaks but I couldn’t turn it off.

I went out to dinner. Was 1 of only 2 tables in the place. Felt good to go to a sit down restaurant again. So tired of cooking & eating take out.

Me too. And unfortunately I purchased the mega pack of brownie mix at Costco several weeks ago. I totally forgot I had it until reading this. Guess what I will be making today? Something that I haven’t done since childhood wasn’t done today, but last week. I bought some tater tots. I know someone spoke about them in a post and it planted the seed in my mind. Not enough to purposely seek them out in the store, but when I went down that freezer aisle and saw some, I had to buy them. I honestly think they are better tasting than when I was a child.

I wore rings and earrings for the first time since March 13. I also saw 4 dear friends. We met on a patio, kept 6 feet apart and talked for 3 hours. n-i-c-e

I climbed up and down our rickety two story ladder and washed the palladium window in our entry, inside and out, replaced bulbs in the entry light fixture, and washed the huge wall of windows in our two story family room. And when you say “haven’t done in a long time” I can’t remember the last time I washed those windows. It’s been years. The light fixture was down to two of six working bulbs. The windows are sparkling and the light was beautiful today, but man that was a pain to accomplish.

I visited with a friend I haven't seen since the shut down. We've both been "in" for the whole thing--so I think we're ok visiting. We both needed it.

Went in to work all day, all week, probably from now on. There is a bright side - I did pull out a new pair of shoes I bought at the end of the season last year. I didn't wear my corona shoes for the first time since this happened.

I finally had to break down and go to a military pharmacy, which involved having me go inside and talk to the pharmacist.
I have needed one prescription since March 12, but didn’t go in until my critical estrogen blocker, synthroid and BP medicine had to be refilled. Wasn’t happy about it, but glad that I’ll finally get to start on my gabapentin.

Used the new gas-powered blower to clean off all the steps, patio, walkways, and pool area in the backyard --- after having to watch a dang You-Tube video to figure out how to get the blower started! Then used the skimmer net to get all the leaves & yuck out of the pool from last night's storm. And then spread 25 bags of mulch in the beds in the front yard. I haven't been this tired in a long time. But it's a good-tired!

I guess cleaning under the guest sinks doesn't count? I hadn't done it in years and it was rather disgusting. The brownies sound much better!!

For those of you with brownie cravings, google chocolate mug cake recipe. See if you have the ingredients. It may be enough to satisfy your craving if you don’t have a brownie mix or are afraid to eat the whole pan ( madness, I know, right?)
