DD informed us that masks with one way breathing valves aren’t allowed in our area. Reasoning is that they don’t comply because you can spray droplets out as you exhale. Guess we’ll stop reusing our old N95s with the valves that we have had since the fires. If masks are required where you live, are masks with valves allowed?

Interesting. Where are you?
I wasn't sure how the valves operated. I haven't heard anything like that here yet. I think they'd be grateful if people wore ANY kind of mask!

We have nice re-usable masks with valves. I wasn't even thinking about the exhalation of droplets. My Mom pointed it out and I now have cloth masks that I wear when I need to go out. I haven't heard that they aren't allowed, but since the valves defeat the purpose of why we're being asked to wear them I personally stopped.

I'd just slap a lightweight fabric mask over it to be in compliance.

I've also seen where people put duct tape over the valve. As the mask is primarily to stop asymptomatic people from unknowingly spreading the virus to others, a mask with a valve does no good.
