Is anyone doing WITL next week?
I haven't completed one in a couple years, just didn't feel the need to. But now with the whole Covid19 experience and daily life looking much different I am thinking about doing it. Moreso just to write more and take more mundane photos so I can capture this whole story.
I have yet to document this time period, so I've just started getting some ideas together. I am thinking of maybe sort of combining it into one project somehow. Like do the WITL but also add in the extra reflections on what is happening in the world.
I don't know if I want to do like 6x8 or just a few 8.5x11 pages. I am thinking about using a notebook I have, but I don't want that feeling of having to fill up all the pages....I don't know. I am just using my stash and what I have on hand.
If you are doing WITL what type of album/pages are you doing?
Do you think the virus or stay-at-home order is going to be reflected heavily in your project or are you trying to take a different take? avoid it?

I am doing WITL next week (starting on Sunday). I am using a 6x8 album that I already had in my stash. I also picked up some digitals to mix with other cards I already had.
Edited to add: I definitely think Covid will be making an appearance. Right now, my world revolves around it.

I keep going back and forth on it. I bought a digital kit for it and have a 6x8 album. I love the one week in the life I did. The problem is I just don’t have the energy now!!!!! I would probably benefit from doing it and it would probably be just what I need. So now I’m sitting here going back and forth. I should just commit and do it.

I did it the week of April 20th. Took all the pictures and wrote journaling everyday. Haven’t put the album together yet. I actually felt like this year I didn’t run out of steam toward the end of the week like I usually do and there is just so much to reflect on right now.
I wasn’t going to do one this year but the pandemic is a unique time that I wanted to document.
Originally I was thinking of just doing a mini album but may do 6x8 instead since I took so many pictures. I think I’m going to shop my stash for this album.
Good luck with your project.

I've found when I put some thought into in ahead of time and figure out a format, I tend to complete the project versus just taking photos and writing. It usually takes me longer or I never get around to getting it into a final product. I am thinking of having it be more writing focused and just print a few pictures like 3-5 per day in black & white. Try to keep a muted theme to make the stories stand out more. I am leaning towards more 8.5x11 or 6x12 and just including it in my regular chronological album versus making a separate thing. Then if I have other virus related stories that I want to do a separate page, it can be included in the same album and sort of relate. hmmmmm... still working it out... Thanks for sharing!

I'm doing it next week along with Ali's documenting days. This will be the 6th year in a row that I created a project along with her and I love looking back and seeing what looks the same and what looks different. This year I considered doing a different week just because next week is NOT a normal week for us (not just COVID, but also we're building a new house and it's finally done and the closing is next week, plus my daughter's birthday), but it is what it is, and I'm going to go with it. I'm going to write an intro about how this is not an ordinary week in our lives but why I decided to document it anyways. The focus will really be on journaling and photos (as it usually is for this project) and will have a mix of COVID and non-COVID stuff just based on how our lives look right now. I plan to make more of an effort to include info from the news this year than I have in years past, but I would've liked to have that in any year.
I will document using a 6x8 mini album with pocket pages + inserts and different page sizes. I've used a similar approach in all prior years except 2019 I did a purely digital photobook. In future years I'll probably mix up the format as well, but this year I feel like going back to a chunky 6x8 and really filling it up. Even though life is so different right now, and this is an extraordinary week just because of the new house and birthday, I am still going to use similar WITL techniques that I've used in the past and try to include things that I wish I had included in years prior.
I'm participating in the WITL prep party and will use that opportunity to come up with my design formula and some specific ideas for things I want to capture. During the week I always take a ton of photos and write down what we did as the week goes by so I don't forget things and then I put the album together afterwards. Some things I want to capture this year/or have captured in the past:
+ currently for each family member (watching, reading, listening, etc.) + our daily meals + our regular schedule (e.g. daughter's class schedule, what hours my husband & I are generally working these days) + screenshots of text messages + quotes of specific things people say, especially my daughter + screenshots of what we're watching on TV + news headlines + the daily weather + what I'm wearing each day + my daily step count (fitbit) + what each person is currently working on (work projects, learning in each class, craft projects, goals) + what our house looks like right now + what my daughter's room looks like right now + a headshot for each family member + reflections on how I'm feeling
This year I want to try using some specific journaling prompts for each day rather than just writing up a factual schedule of what we did each day. That can get boring to read and I want to work on making the album more interesting. I'm going to try repetitive prompts like "I want to remember..." like Ali has done in the past.

I'm playing along next week as well. Planning on going from Monday-Sunday. I was going to use a 6x8 album from my stash but its a SC handbook (an older 4 ring one) and I don't have enough page protectors. I ended up grabbing one from SC when they had their free shipping sale with extra page protectors. *Still* waiting for it to come in the mail I got AE's kit but am adding in some printable elements because it feels pretty skimpy. This will be my 7 or 8th year participating. Its one of my favorites really and now with covid it will be one for history.

I started doing this last year after reading an old WITL blog post from AE and I agree that it makes the project much more interesting. I also think it offers you the chance to look at things differently. I only do one day of the daily schedule and then pick a different prompt for each of the other days....around here, I see, _ing, thankful for, etc. I even made my husband take a day last year and that was great (he’s a really good writer I wish he would do the entire week lol).

I'm doing it next week, too. To be honest, I'm a little nervous. I haven't scrapbooks in a year, I have two unfinished WITL sitting here, though I have 4 finished albums, which I love and it's my favorite thing to do. I'm going to take photos and journaling, and after that, see what comes. Hope I can bring myself to finish.
