I just got my period...10 DAYS EARLY! It hasn't kept a schedule in two years but this is the earliest I've ever gotten it. I've had five hot flashes in the past year. I'm just so pissed my period came.

Yeah, my cycles are about 7-10 days shorter now, and that's definitely a sign of perimenopause.

Hugs. I went through all that random stuff too, then I got to 7 months without one, then BAM. Lockdown and calendar reset both at the same time. Pfft. I will say though that sage and evening primrose oil really seem to help my hot flushes (thank you gar!). Make sure that they're OK to take with your meds though.

Mine has been wildly erratic for about 10 years (after being loke clockwork forever), so don't get too excited yet!

Peri-menopause took me 11 years! At age 45 I started having extremely painful periods again, the kind where I was curled up on the couch crying. My periods went from every 31 days all my menstruating life to every 23 days by the end. they gradually got closer and closer together starting at 45, and they got heavier and heavier. Last few years I had three days of excruciating pain and ridiculous amount of bleeding followed by 3 days of lighter flow. It seemed it just ended, I blinked, and it started up again. It's been 3+ years since my last period and I am soooo relieved!
Hang in there. You can do this!

Dh and I were talking about this ten min ago. He feels like I have my period all the time now. My cycles used to be 32-33 days long and now they are more like 22-25. I had a fourteen day cycle a few months ago.

If your periods become a problem consider a hysterectomy! Mine were like crime scenes and that surgery was the best thing! I love not having a period now

It’s the pits.
Since January of 2019, here’s the days between the start of each of my periods: 25, 169, 20, 19, 25, 27, 49, 48 and 107 and counting ...

I have been going through this for four years and it seems like an eternity. I went 6 moths and then got my period. Very sad. For the last year it's been every other month, but I anticipate that will change. I've had night sweats, hot flashes, insomnia and probably more. Nothing seems to last for more than a few months. I always had 4 day light periods. I had quite a few months of the crime scene action but that stopped and they are shorter and lighter now. Who knows what the next one will bring, though. There is no predicting now!

Ya know? I'd be happy with some screwing of the schedule. My hot flashes are out of control, especially at night.
But my damn period? Every 26-28 days like clockwork!! AAAHHHHH!!!!
I've been 11 days late ONCE in the last year.
I'm so over this shit lol.

I was done with periods at 45 - now the route getting there was a marathon. Plus I’m still having hot flashes 13 years later

No you’re not too young. I’m 51 and by the time I was your age I was already through menopause and completely finished having periods. Peri menopause was confirmed from a blood test when I was only 39 and having symptoms already. Menopause was the worst thing ever for me. I’d rather go through puberty again or have 10 pregnancies before menopause. The symptoms were horrible and I could go through the list and tick every one of them off.

Funny you bring this up! I"m still on birth control and just got my period 4 days early yesterday! So...obviously some strange things are happening. I am 42. But, I also have a prolactinoma brain tumor which affects my pituatary gland and hormones. Never like this before though!

I just had that last month. Menstrual cramps that had me in bed with a heating pad, crying. I knew it was probably coming, since I started perimenopause a few years ago, but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Peri-menopause took me 11 years! At age 45 I started having extremely painful periods again, the kind where I was curled up on the couch crying. My periods were crazy blood baths for awhile (they were pretty normal before) until I went on birth control. Eventually they just stopped. Then 15 months later I had a period. I guess my ovaries wanted to get the last word. I haven't had one since and it has been over a year. But who knows?
I'm really lucky. I've only had 1 hot flash and no other symptoms.

Well I’m 34 days late and my last cycle lasted 85 days. So I’m on my way. No crazy hot flashes though. I’ve had face flushes too from time to time. Is that a thing? Also it maybe explains some hot mess moments. I’m 52.

I don't think I'm happy I opened this thread, lol. I noticed that I got my period about 10 days early this time. I had no idea that was a perimenopause symptom. I'm 47. Damn.

I'm 52 and I texted my BF yesterday, "I don't even remember when I had my last period" (He texted that he had to do an emergency run to get tampons for his daughter). I had to do a search of our texts to find when I typed, "Well, good new, no Jr..." and it was a year ago.
When I first started menopause, I had crazy cycles -- once where my period lasted 3 weeks and was heavy. Then nothing for two months.
Wait til you hot flashes!

My perimenopause lasted about 2 years....definitely worse the last year. I had a period last January, then one in June (really pissed me off) and a mini period in October. I still had bad hot flashes and night sweats up until a few months ago, but this post has made me realize I haven’t really had any for a while. I’ve been feeling pretty darn good. Of course, my doctor (as well as some lovely some lovely Peas) is quick to remind me that I must go a full year to really be done.

I'm hoping I'm going into menopause. I was 9 days late last month, and so far this time around am 14 days late.

If your periods become a problem consider a hysterectomy! Mine were like crime scenes and that surgery was the best thing! I love not having a period now It depends on the surgeon. I saw a urogyn and I tried to negotiate a surgery out of him. It was close to begging. It wasn’t pretty. He was this South African guy who was my age and hot AF. At least my periods now are light knock on wood.

I had my last period 15 months ago when I was 44. My cycle had been insane before that. Not having periods has been friggin’ miraculous. I use a progesterone cream for hot flashes (got it on amazon) that helps a ton.
