I'm here with sketchy Saturday! I'm sorry I'm so late today. My sketch for you is an old scrapbook generations. I was drawn to it by the banner on the page. I also like the first half as a single page layout. 08 august basic by kirstendrew, on Flickr To add to my gong-show of a day, I finished the 2 pager example last week and have been waiting to share it...and my file won't open! Rephotographing tomorrow... Tonight I am joining the google hangout crop, and am going to work on a single page version of the sketch.

Great sketch, kitbop. I like that big piece tying the two pages together and the pp strips. Can't wait to see your sample. Not sure if I will be on Hangouts tonight. Can't seem to get anything scrappy going today, and while I often seem to fly by the seat of my pants, I DO need to have a general concept of the finished page in my head before I start putting it together, and I got Nada...

kitbop, great sketch. I could see moving the banner to top the paper strips on the right side and having that as a stand alone page also. Hopefully your file will open for you tomorrow. One morning this week, 2 of my USB ports stopped working. I followed some online instructions to resolve, but it meant my keyboard and my wifi had to be moved to fix it. It's frustrating when technology doesn't work the way it's suppose to. I can't wait to see your layouts.

Nope - file still won't open! I rephotographed it last evening, but the light...I just couldn't fix it even in photoshop. So here's my morning photo! In the iNSD crop last weekend, msliz encouraged me to draw my own cupcake embellies because I couldn't find any stickers...so I did. Thanks for the mojo Liz! layout sweet cupcake factory by kirstendrew, on Flickr

I used the left side and brought the banner over. The only thing I wish I had was a bottle of fingernail polish to use as an accent to finish off the page. d3_22Mommy-Daughter-Time by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr

Hey, LisaDV, I just might have some nail polish bottle stickers with a fashionista type collection I got with a kit a while ago. Will check, and if there are some there I can send it to you. Love the page: the colours, the banner, the story behind it. Great photos of both the TV screen and the two different nail colours on display! Here is my take on this sketch. grammadee, thanks for the offer. I was looking for a digital one. I almost bought a kit just for the nail polish but couldn't justify the purchase. I took a photo of the nail polish we used. I might see about extracting the images to use. I might not though. A lot of extra work. I saw that page on flickr the other day. Those gnomes are fantastic! I left you love there. AussieMeg, I hope that Santa suit is lightweight material! I left you love on flickr as well. Great colors as always.

I looked through my "girlie" bin, but the only nail polish images I found were quite small and just outlined doodles. I was so sure I had some colourful makeup stickers somewhere, and I may have, just not where I looked. Or they might be there and hiding from me... I was thinking you could draw one, colour it and fussy cut for a paper LO. But a photograph of the real thing would definitely work, too. Have no idea how you can fussy cut an image in digi, but that is probably what you mean by "extract"? LOL. An ad might be easier to work from.

kitbop , thanks for the sketch. And kitbop , LisaDV and grammadee and AussieMeg ... all of your sketchs are so full of joy. I never make banners of mixed things like the gnome page, and I will definitely try that next time I need a banner. The triangle banner is extra special too. AussieMeg , I am enjoying your work here and other shares so much that I actually googled "how to digital scrapbook". I find cutting, stamping and gluing relaxing, so I will probably stick with that but I love your spreads.

jjpeapea, add me to the "admires how digital scrapbooking looks when when in capable hands, but needs to "glue and paste" crew Computer work is not relaxing for me! AussieMeg, her choice of colours and collections, is amazing Win for the banners! Title on banners - awesome idea!

Awesome use of that glitter paper and great idea to use the banners for the title letters, jjpeapea. Love your happy rock garden! ITA with you and kitbop. In total awe of the wonderful pages that digi scrappers like AussieMeg and LisaDV create, but find working on the computer uber stressful. Moving pieces of paper around, cutting it here, inking it there, seeing what it looks like over in that corner, layering it with that, and "ooooh I just saw something that matches over there!" are actions that relax me.

Moving pieces of paper around, cutting it here, inking it there, seeing what it looks like over in that corner, layering it with that, and "ooooh I just saw something that matches over there!" are actions that relax me. I totally understand that, and sometimes I really miss paper scrapping. Especially the other day when I was going through my patterned paper stash and came across all these beautiful papers that I will now never use. I have started scanning them though. But I really love the flexibility of digital scrapping. I can scrapbook in the car on the way to a holiday destination, and I can scrap while on holidays (vacation) without the stress of trying to make sure I pack everything. I can scrap at my son's boring cricket matches that d-r-a-a-a-a-g on for hours and nothing happens. And packing up is very easy - I just close my laptop! And then if - I mean WHEN - I make a mistake, I can delete a couple of layers and redo it. I think the very best thing for me when it comes to digital scrapping is being able to resize my photos any size I want - 24x12 or teeny tiny 1x1 circles. And not having to wait to get them printed! But yeah, as I said, I do sometimes miss traditional scrapping.

Have no idea how you can fussy cut an image in digi, but that is probably what you mean by "extract"? Yep, extracting is fussy cutting. jjpeapea, that's a beautiful page. I love the color and the sparkle. Those googly eyes are perfect. jeremysgirl, that layout is fantastic with it's color and and colorful drinks. Very nice!
