My friend has asked me to organize the games for her son's party/sleepover on Friday. There will be 6 boys who will be coming over straight from school at about 4p.m. Her house isn't very big and there's no basement to run around, but there's a small park across the street. Her son is obsessed with the Percy Jackson books, so I've looked online for PJ themed parties. I don't want to do anything that involves a ton of prep work or requires expensive supplies in case the boys aren't interested. They're also going to watch a couple of movies before bed. So, any suggestions for party games for 10 year old boys? Pretty please with a cherry on top!

We just had a birthday party last weekend for our 9 yo but it was kind of bonfire/camping themed. The kids loved doing the scavenger hunt which you could do in the park. Ours was even more fun because it was in the dark and we had them find off the wall stuff like glow sticks, boxes of candy, etc.
They also had fun with a mosquito bite game where each kid got a sheet of circle stickers that they had to sneakily put on any of the other kids. If the other kid caught them, they got that bite back plus another from the other kids sheet. First person to empty their sheet of stickers won. Stickers were $1 in the office supply section at Walmart.
And there's always flashlight tag. That has been a favorite of all of my kids, no matter what age.

Fill an empty Kleenex box with table tennis (ping pong} balls, strap to the child's lower back - they have a minute to empty the Kleenex box. Went down well at my dd's 10th birthday party, lots of laughs. Check out Pinterest, loads of ideas. People are very creative.

Capture the Flag in the park would be good since they play it in PJ. My son has always played a version of it at his birthday parties, but we play it around the front and back of the house.

Minute to Win It games were my first thought as well. Hope everyone enjoys whichever games you choose.

The boys in our neighborhood like doing scavenger hunts! The party mom lets some of us know what the boys will be looking for when they come knocking at our doors!

Thanks so much. I had been looking at Pinterest for Percy Jackson parties without much luck. I just looked at Minute to win it games and they look awesome. I already have lots of ping ping balls, so we'll definitely play that one. I love the idea of a scavenger hunt in the dark. I was thinking of a boring old nature scavenger hunt, but looking for glow sticks sounds much more fun. Love the mosquito game idea too since stickers are really cheap! I haven't read any of the PJ books so I didn't know they played capture the Flag. We could play that in the park

We had a Halloween themed party a couple years ago for DS who was turning 9 at the time. (he has a 10/24 b.day) Anyway, along with costumes and stuff we wanted to entertain the bunch b/c we know they have energy to burn. We had like 15 kids (his entire soccer team plus a couple others...) and we did a few minute to win it games. They were hits. We also did a "make a mummy" contest that everyone went nuts for. Is there a mummy in percy Jackson stories at all? We divided them into team and gave each a number of rolls of TP and they had to pick one kid to turn into a mummy. DS got to chose the winning team. I thought the boys would think it lame but they totally got into it. If I'm honest the parents did too
