Sometimes it really is the little things. Check out this hack to close cereal boxes so they don’t pop open. It totally works! I tried it. /?

That’s super handy, and I have no idea who that woman is, but she’s adorable.

Ha. I did this all on my own because we have dogs. Short dogs who like to peruse the pantry if we forget to shut the door.

I keep the bag inside closed with a binder clip (also do cookies and crackers the same way). So I don’t really care if the box pops open or not.

I just clip the inside bag and push the box tops down into the box. Easy peasy! And faster I think. ETA: Oh no, miss lucyg, I have to push the flaps down because neatness counts! lol

I do that too but it’s still annoying as hell when those box tops don’t stay closed! I may or may not have 3-4 cereal boxes that won’t stay shut in my pantry RIGHT.NOW. Crackers too. This is a game changer, right up there with the origami bag fold for chip bags so you don’t need a clip to close an open bag of chips, but unfortunately I’m the only one in my family who has mastered that one.

While not the same (and a bit of a hijack), I was introduced to the magic of Gripstics to keep bags of chips and the like sealed, so I don't have to use clips and it keeps a fresh seal. Because I couldn't ever figure out that origami bag fold either.

I’ve never even heard of the origami bag fold! But I don’t need it, because I have binder clips. FurryP, that is quite true, neatness counts, and folding the box tops inside works great. I’m with ya, sister.

I put a clip on the bag and throw the box away.

MichyM, you will not be displeased. They work on anything with a bag -- in some of those cases where the zipseal breaks? Problem solved.

I have a special drawer with space for clothespins and clips to keep my bags closed. So easy, peasy

Sometimes it really is the little things. Check out this hack to close cereal boxes so they don’t pop open. It totally works! I tried it. That is very cool, and so easy - TFS! I just tried it on a cereal box - now I am curious to see whether DS is able to open the box and re-close it properly, or whether he just rips it to shreds trying to get into it. Methinks it will be the latter!

But...I have my doubts about whether certain family members would close it back up properly after they'd opened it. If they opened it without ripping it.

Wonder if it works when your cereal boxes all look like this 🙄 Yeah, happens around here all the time. Usually at that point I just take the bag out and throw away the box.

It’s a neat idea I’ve used plastic cereal containers since the kids came along. It’s an easy way to keep cereal from going stale. Similar to these cereal storage

Methinks it will be the latter! LOL. I was ragging on DD at one point because of the nonsensical way she would open a bag of anything, by cutting a huge chunk off the corner of the bag so the side would continue to rip down making it impossible to close, instead of pulling the top open gently or just slicing the very top edge off so the bag can be rolled down and clipped. Not long after that, I saw her dad do the EXACT SAME THING. WTF, who does that? Good Lord, that apple didn’t fall far off the tree. That’s what I’m dealing with here in this house. Half of the packages of anything look like they’ve been gnawed open by wild animals.

ummmm, okay, maybe I am missing something.. I roll the bag down and shut the top and don't have issues? I don't tear the box up getting into it.. just slide my finger until it opens. I use the tab thingy to close. If I am opening those huge boxes of cereal from Costco I pull one bag out and dump it into a Tupperware type container.
