when kids were smaller, I starting plastic canister things from Walmart. Come in 1/2 and 1 gallon and inexpensive. www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-2-Quart-Cannister/16408651I don't recall the boxes and inner bags being such a PITA growing up. Seems they stayed closed better- or maybe I was just a kid who didn't notice/ didn't care. Now I continue to use those canisters for flower, sugar and other stuff because we just don't go through stuff as quickly. And I just write any relevant info on them with dry erase markers.

I use rubbermaid containers for my cereal, but this is so handy for all the processed frozen like corndogs and taquitos!

I have a basket I keep my bags of cereal in. I take them out of the box when I get them home. They get clipped closed after they’re opened.

Speaking of cereal boxes, Alton Brown made Rice Krispy bars on Youtube and instead of putting the mixture in a pan he sprayed the cereal box liner and scooped it back in. The bars form to the shape of the box. He said it was an old boy scout hack and he used to trick his mom into thinking he was just eating cereal out of the box.

I just did this with 2 boxes of cereal. It looks so neat and tidy! We use clips on the inner bags, but I hated they way the boxes wouldn’t stay closed.
Now I want to go do the frozen Shrimp Scampi and Panko Shrimp boxes. Lol.

Great idea! We got the cereal holder containers and love them! They look so pretty! I'm a pantry snob!

I love him, he is just awesome

It’s a neat idea I’ve used plastic cereal containers since the kids came along. It’s an easy way to keep cereal from going stale. Similar to these cereal storageSame. I have 2 tupperware cereal keepers which means we can have exactly 2 different kinds of cereal on hand. Ha, I also have two Tupperware cereal containers, but seeing that we all like different cereals, and I don't want to eat the same cereal every day so I alternate, there are usually an additional 4-6 boxes of cereal in the pantry at any one time, in addition to the Tupperware.

We decant our cereal into cereal tupperwares. And then today, Ds asked me to make him taquitos. First of all, it looked like a rabid dog had opened the box, coupled with it being slightly frozen and thawing quickly, the mechanism to close the box was a soggy mess. I tried this trick, and BINGO! Worked perfectly. It will remain to be seen if ds19 figures it out.
