So, I bought a starter kit from Revel Nail and have now done my nails two times. I am shocked how easy it is.
If you are on the fence... go for it! I have done mine twice in 7 days because it is so much fun and I wanted to change the color. I even found a way to get them off easily online.
If you are in need of a new hobby, I highly recommend.

You should pay and tip yourself when you are done. You are probably saving yourself some money !

I started using dip polish when the quarantine went into place. I love it and won't be going back to the salon. It took me about three attempts to get my nails looking like a nail tech had done them. The only problem is that I want to buy more colors!

Please share how to get it off easily. With everything shut down I was forced to try and get mine off by myself. Complete disaster!! I used 100% acetone and soaked for a good thirty minutes, rubbing what I could off every 5 to 10 minutes. It was a horrible nightmare that I hope to never repeat. 3 hours later with numerous soaks and I was in tears.

I’m glad you posted this because I’ve been considering doing my own nails. I used to do the SNS dip powder at the salon, and while they’re supposed to put a portion of the powder into a smaller container for your use, some didn’t and would dip your nails right in the tub. Even if they take some out, you know some salons are pouring the rest back in the container after you leave because there would be a lot of waste. Obviously the whole idea of this grosses me out now to the point that I don’t know if I can trust enough to have mine done. Even paining my nails, using colors they’ve used on everyone else, concerns me.

I love Revel, they have the best customer service too, If you order a small jar and they are out, they will automatically upgrade you for free to the bigger jar. I love the specials they offer, there are some good FB groups out there also for tips and to see what the colors look like and for selling if you buy one you dont like you can trade with someone.

This is like what I did. I used a ziploc bag with a paper towel. I have a bowl of rice that I just reuse each time to give it the heat needed. Heat the rice for 90 seconds for each hand. After filing off the shine it took 9 minutes to take off both hands today.

Also wanted to mention that an efile from Amazon makes the process so much easier, but it can be done without one.

Here is the video I followed. Instead of water I used a bowl of rice heated for 1 1/2 minutes. I also used a file to take the “shine”’off before I started. youtu.be/xw-l7h37BTc

Thanks so much, this makes sense. This is so much better than wrapping the individual nails!

Thanks so much, this makes sense. This is so much better than wrapping the individual nails! Please report back on how it went for you. I save my rice to reuse. Now that I am dipping my own I use UNT Peel Base and afternoon about 5 days I can just pop them if like a press on nail. It is seriously a new addiction. Lol!

I am very intrigued. I love having my nails painted but I hate how they chip after a day or 2. I'm going to give it a try!

So glad I am finally able to grow my own nails, I would not want to be going through all the trouble. Although I currently keep them filed down very short because I don't want any sneaky Covid hanging out under there.

I will say if you decide to do the dip nails the key is very thin coats of the step #1 Probase. Thin coats will keep it from being bumpy and wavy. It will lessen your smoothing time considerably.
I am on my third set. I had very little smoothing and filing that needed to be done.

I mentioned it to DD months ago after seeing it on Facebook. She tried to buy me a kit for Mother's Day but every single place she tried was sold out.
