So I have just now been watching Shimelle's videos, and finished the one where she uses Never Grow Up. I did not expect (and still am not sure this was a wise decision by AC) them to carry it at my JA. Lo and behold they do.
So this AM I geared up and spent my lunch hour (and what feels like my paycheck!) at JA. Most of it was 50% off, which was so exciting and made me very happy. It was nice to feel happy again, for such a fun and silly reason!
I got: 2 project pads, 2 small stacks, 2 of every single sheet JA carries, 2 washi tapes, 2 embellishment packs, and 1 floral pack. I also picked up the stamps. I did not get the wooden buttons, as they are so bulky and I don't like bulk like that in my books.
It is really different than most of what my scrap supplies are (I was a HUGE fan of the grungy look, circa 2011-ish) and so I am exciting to look at spring-y happy paper.
I will say too, the store was very calm, people were super nice and everyone (inc me) were masked to the gills, and hand sanitizer was available and set out on little tables.
So if you are able to, and feel comfortable doing so, I would advise picking this up while it's still there! I think most JA are now open limited hours, depending on your state.

My store didn't have the project pads. Sad. I bought a ton of the other paper though.

I'm planning to buy a bunch of it as soon as it's possible. I'm also hoping they still have some Sparkle City in the clearance section (a girl can dream)

My JoAnns doesn’t open until Monday and ONLY for curbside pick up. But you can’t Order pick up until it opens. So what are they going to be doing the first hour?
Whatever. I’m still annoyed with Joanns from December so whatever I’ll keep my money. I shouldn’t be shopping anyway until my employer decides what they are doing with furloughs

I ordered a bunch of stuff from scrapbk dot com using Shimelle's affiliate link. I got a bit of Shimelle stuff (I love it but it's not always the most useful for my projects) and some more Paige Evans Bloom Street which is delightfully springy and very easy to use for cardmaking and a few other random things I needed. Happy to support Shimelle, sad about AC being idiots.
I got the Never Grow Up 6x8 pad since they finally got their heads on straight and mixed journaling pieces with small scale patterns that I can actually use. And some ephemera and flowers, and the card bases. I'm hoping I can put together some fun cards and keep some of the journaling paper for letter writing or for my virus diaries.
I also got another package of the Sparkle City rub ons for my planner. Just because I loved them.

I love this collection! My Joann’s is out of the project pad but I’m hoping they get it back in stock sometime next week.

I went looking online at JoAnn's again because of this thread, and saw there's a no-minimum free shipping code for today only FSNM515.
Just placed an order. I decided not to get the NGU Project pad because I'm really more of a B-side scrapper, but I did get the 6x8, the stickers, and something else (can't remember), as well as a little Paige Evans and Heidi Swapp.
I'm calling it Mother's Day, Phase 2.
I still need to grab up all that yummy paper by the sheet, but this will keep me happy for awhile.
Question for you all, since I'm skipping the Project Pad and the alphas are had to come by, do any of you know of a free font that resembles hers? Not a counterfeit, but something similar? A playful outline that I could color in?

I didn't think I was gonna like this line as much as I did when I finally saw it in person. So much so I'm contemplating a trip to my Joanns which would involve waiting in line outside in 90+ weather cause they are only letting 10 people in at a time....

My closest JoAnns doesn't have it so I ordered from Paper Issues. There's a few more papers I'd like so I will include them on my next order from Scrapbook.com. We took a trip to Sequoia National Park last summer so I might need a second sheet of the tree paper!

I will have to cut the sheet for easier mailing, if you don’t mind.

No JoAnns near me, and their online store only has a few items, so I placed a big order for the Shimelle lines that scrapbook.com had in stock. I already had most of NGU and Field Trip, but only a little of Sparkle City, so it was nice to fill out my collections and get dupes of NGU. I found some great lots of Shimelle embellishments from various lines on eBay, so am set for now. Still really sad that NGU is the last Shimelle line (for now).

That's so sweet of you I'd really prefer it if you could deliver it in person so I could spend some time with you again, but it's still going to be awhile before that's a good idea. I just remembered something too. Didn't AC offer their paper lines as digital files for a limited time sale awhile back? Did anyone buy them? Did they include alphas? I wonder if they'll do that again, and I wonder if there would be any Shimelle.

AC has a digital shop where they sell their collections as digitals: acdigitals.com
The most recent product is Field Trip, and no alphas.

Hard pass. Don't like the cutesy stuff I agree, I did not either until I watched her videos, then I was like, "Ohhhhh....I think I can do some cool stuff with that!" She is really her own best salesperson, same with Tim.

I hardly ever look at the videos for the project, watch for ideas and techniques and sometimes a different way of doing something. Unfortunately I see things done wrong. The most blatant one is score and fold. The proper way is, the score is on the good side. This allows a smooth fold on the outside and a rigid pole on the inside for support.

My Shimelle stuff arrived from scrapbook dot com the other day. I immediately went through the 6x8 pad to pull out the sheets I could use to make card fronts with and WOW, yay! it’s got a ton of the fun prints at a smaller scale that will be perfect for quick cards. Hopefully just the right amount to make cards without getting totally sick of it (the 12x12 pads are just too much - I only just finished using up the Starshine one I bought back when they were so behind on releasing the Starshine 6x6 pad and I couldn’t wait ) I put the journaling papers with my virus diaries project. So I’m really happy with that purchase, especially because I can get 2 card fronts out of each of the 6x8 papers, or I can do one card front and two 3x4 panels. I really like the 6x8 pad size. I also got the patterned card bases which are kind of fun. The cardstock is thinner than what I like for cards but I might chop some of them up and put them on my own card bases. Some of the backs are continuations of the front print but others are fun b-side-type designs, so they might be fun to layer with the paper I got. I haven’t opened up the die cut packs yet. When I’m recovered from my current card making binge I’m looking forward to digging in and seeing what I can do with this stuff. It should be fun and cheerful.
