I placed an order with A Cherry on Top and they put my order in the mail, USPS, in a timely manner.
This is the tracking information that has been showing since May 6:
Status
Accepted
May 6, 2020 at 3:52 pm
Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending
SAGINAW, MI 48607
I emailed A Cherry on Top to ask if my package had got lost in the mail or if this was something to do with the Coronavirus problem.
This is the reply I received: "Yes, they are backed up due to Corona. They're about two weeks out. We apologize for the shipping delays."
I went back and looked and there is a link at the top of A Cherry on Top's website about the shipping delay due to Coronavirus. This is the latest it says,
Update 4/30/2020:
Happy iNSD weekend everyone! We recently became aware that some of our packages are being held up at one of the USPS hubs in Michigan due to short staffing there. Tracking for affected packages will show that a label was created but no scans for an extended period of time. Please be aware this is a possibility when placing your order. In many cases, we can ship via FedEx 2 day service for a similar shipping cost - you may want to consider that option at this time.
(I went back and looked and with the stuff I ordered FedEx would have been quite a bit more expensive.)
Any other problem shipping spots?

I finally just received a shipment that was accepted in Saginaw on April 29. Nothing new for 2 weeks, and then it was on my doorstep. USPS never tracked the shipping, but it delivered just the same

I thought a two week delay was kind of long. The worst part is even if/when it finally does make it to Australia, our postal service is so bad right now it will probably still take another 3-4 weeks to make it to me in Western Australia.

Not scrapbook supplies but I ordered a bucket off of Amazon in the middle of March. No shipping notice, no bucket showed up. The seller ended up refunding me. Mid-April a box from Lowe's showed up with a bucket lid in it. I got a text from Lowe's this week that Fed Ex will be delivering something about the weight of a bucket next Tuesday. I might make a page about my bucket and lid getting married finally after two months, if that's even what is on the way...
Scrapbook supplies being delayed: I haven't been ordering any so no problems so far.

A number of places have stopped shipping overseas because of all the delays. It's sure helping me cut back on craft spending

Everything I have ordered has been a bit slow but nothing stuck for too long (except, quite ironically, the USPS postage stamps I ordered online that flew from MO to Seattle, then flew back to MO, then to NC, then lingered a while before flying back to Seattle and finally being delivered to me a couple of hours west of there - but that's just your garden variety postal screw up!) I talked to a friend and she said she'd had a package delayed badly but when I told her about the ACOT email she checked and said that yup, it was also a Michigan issue.
I wonder if my letter to grammadee in Canada ended up going through Michigan...? I sent her a card in late March and she just got it the other day. I assumed it was the Canadian postal service to blame, but maybe not. No way to track since it was just a regular letter.

Anything coming thru UPS has been held hostage for a whole week at our local center due to the overwhelming amount of packages they are getting. I ordered some thickers thru Amazon prime, and for some reason it was shipped UPS and it took forever. USPS surprisingly is actually the fastest right behind Amazon prime, when the use their own delivery drivers. FedEx has been so-so.
My scrapbook.com orders have been coming within about 3 days, but I live about 2 hours away. Before all this I could place an order in the morning and have it by the next day!

Mark, from ACOT, came here a couple of weeks ago addressing the shipping problems. It's just a nightmare in Michigan. I did make a large order from ACOT this week. They said it might be June until I get it. I am ok with that. I am not in a hurry. I had medicine held up in Michigan for two weeks. Shipping has been crazy for all sorts of packages at my home. I am a patient person. Still don't understand why GameStop sent my package from my PO distribution center to one state over and then sent it back. Honestly, I could have walked up there and picked it up, ROFL! This was when GameStop was shut down. I had two major UPS deliveries where the UPS guy drove up and down my street but never stopped at my home to deliver the packages even though it said my time was in that hour. I can track the truck at UPS. That sounds so bad, lol. I also saw him go up and down my street. My Cameo 4 arrived on Thursday. I have an 11a.m. delivery time. I watched him drive down my street from my window at least six times then by 2p.m. he was way over on a different side of town. This was all residential deliveries. I know it's not his fault. I am sure it's not UPS fault but I am like WTF? ROFL! He finally delivered at 6p.m. Yes, it was on his truck the whole time. What a waste of gas, lol. Poor man much have been exhausted to. Hugs to all our mail carriers and delivery heroes. For all of you trying to deliver and process our packages. I love you to pieces and appreciate everything your doing.
Editing- Sorry Mods I had to delete one post to a formatting issue and then repost.

I’m in Canada and waiting for multiple packages from Studio Calico and two from scrapbook.com. The earliest package I’m waiting for shipped out from Studio Calico on Apr 3rd. From what I’ve gathered, it’s all sitting at a Canada Post facility in Mississauga, about an hour and a half from my house. Wish I could just go and pick it up. Apparently there were 8 Covid cases at that facility, so it shut down for cleaning and now they’re working with less staff so that physical distancing can be maintained. My question is where on earth are they physically keeping all this mail? It’s got to be around six weeks worth by now.

You'd think they'd have the ability to reroute to other hubs even if it adds a bit of distance, especially if the staffing issue doesn't seem as though it will be resolved. They can make packages go all over the country on accident, so why not choose another hub on purpose? It doesn't help the packages on a 2 week backup, but it keeps it from getting worse in the interim.
To keep things from backing up, Joann's is shipping things as they pull them...so far, 6 things in my order of 10-15 items have shipped in 4 packages, the 2 lightest of which account for 2 of those packages...the rest is still processing. I don't understand that logic, either.

Queen and Company ships from San Diego. They are a small mom and pop company, and they are typically very quick to ship. Unfortunately, San Diego has had significant delays, with a similar “label created “issue, but mostly the tracking just says “in transit to the next destination” for an unusually long time.

I didn't realize the shipping problem was so wide spread. Thanks everyone for posting your mailing experiences.

I had a package from another company in Michigan that was stuck in Detroit for several days. I know Detroit has been hard hit by COVID. I did ask at the post office last week why our mail was being delivered do late and she told me they had several carriers out. And we haven't been hit that hard in my city. Also shipping times have been crazy. Something I use to order one day and arrive the next day now takes at least a week.

My question is where on earth are they physically keeping all this mail? It’s got to be around six weeks worth by now. Australia Post has had to rent additional facilities to sort and store the mail in during this time as well as hiring additional staff. Things are really hit and miss here, I've had stuff sent from interstate that arrived in a couple of days, as I would expect under normal circumstances, and I've got a parcel that arrived to a depot about an hour from my house two weeks ago that doesn't appear to have moved.

I’m in south central Michigan and the bulk of our mail comes through Detroit, so pretty much everything I’ve ordered has been slowed way down. That includes all my scrappy purchases and Amazon. Not complaining, and sending lots of love to our mail and parcel carriers! I can wait on everything except our food boxes, and those have only been late one week since the stay at home order.

I ordered an item from Etsy (came in a package) via USPS Priority, and it went from Petaluma, CA to Chicago in just a few days.
It’s really peculiar how the mail patterns are different across the US.

I placed on order on joann.com on Friday and got an email this morning saying it's delayed. There was a statement on the site that I read before placing the order, though, so I was aware of the issue and went ahead with the order. I appreciated that they're trying to make customers aware before placing the order.

I am the one that started this thread. My package was stuck in Saginaw, Michigan. Starting yesterday, May 17, the tracking information started updating. The package has left Pittsburg, PA and the tracking information says it will be here Friday.

I had a couple of packages languish in Chicago.
One eventually got on its way. The other arrived in Chicago on May 7. Then on May 11 the tracking said "In transit" to next destination. However, by the 16th, there still wasn't any movement.
So I filled out a "where's my mail" request. Within two hours of submitting that online, and subscribing to text updates on the tracking, I got notice that it had moved along and left Chicago. Coincidence? Package was delivered today.
Today I got the "final" email update from USPS and their explanation was COVID.
Which, I understand. But don't have your tracking system say something's in transit if it is not literally moving IN TRANSIT. That's as bad as printing a shipping label and marking it shipped before you've packed my order. And also, two packages I ordered from the SAME PLACE after that stalled one had already shipped and arrived.
So my personal theory is that a bin or something got missed and once someone fills out a where's my mail form, the system says "go check the back room, CHICAGO" or whatever, they find it and go "oops" and scan everything and get it moving again. But sometimes they need a prompt from a customer because they don't really know something got missed otherwise.
