Anyone use these and what is your opinion on them? Someone on my local FB page was asking for acne medication suggestions for her teen DD. Someone chimed in saying her teens use these (and she's not a rep, which I know is true b/c I know her in person). So I went online and read some reviews and they're mixed.
Looking to see what you guys think. My poor DD (14) is suffering with break outs. We find a medicine and it works for a while, but then stops. She's not horrible, but enough that it bothers her. I don't want to take her to a derm unless as a last resort.
So, are these really that great, and if so, how do you actually use them??? do you have to wash them in the washing machine???
Thanks!

Are they abrasive? Does your DD have active pustules? Keeping the skin clean and not allowing pores to get blocked is an important part of care for acne but any scrubbing action that might be too harsh is not a good idea as it will could damage to the skin surface and spread the infection.

I don't know anything about the norwex cloths, sorry. But you said your daughter has tried a number of medicines. Can you post them? I had really good results with retin-a, but if you don't want to get a prescription you can try otc differin. I've heard people have good results with that as well and it's not as harsh as the retin-a (which involved a LOT of peeling). I frequent r/skincareaddiction and they have a lot of advice. I've never seen anyone mention the norwex cloths.

Why would a dermatologist be a last resort? I don’t get it.

The thought of microfiber cloths on skin makes mine crawl!

I have some of the Norwex baby cloths for washing my face. The baby cloths were less expensive than the face cloths but they’re the same fabric. They are not at all abrasive but they do make my skin feel very clean with just water. My niece had a lot of problems with acne breakouts and Proactiv worked very well for her. It was expensive but it was the only thing that actually worked.

I’d also go to the derm. With my son we tried all sorts of OTC options until his jr year of high school. Once we went to the derm and found the right prescription option he cleared up very quickly and has been clear ever since (he’s 24). For him it was accutane. His only regret was waiting so long.
For dd, it was Yaz bc. She started at 13. She’s almost 20 now and has amazing skin.

We bought the Norwex Body Pack cloths and they have helped DS16 with acne. He washes his face with the cloth and water. They are not abrasive at all. They do not feel like a microfibre cloth, they feel like a facecloth when you use them. I use one for myself, it leaves my skin feeling clean but not scrubbed. I am not a Norwex rep, I just bought the cloths from a party but I do feel like they are a good buy. He sink washes it in hot water and hangs it to dry. He throws it in the wash every week. We wash it just like washing a facecloth.

If she's not wanting to go to a dermatologist, try curology.com. You send them pics and a dermatologist prescribes meds and they are sent directly to your house. DD struggled with acne for years (she has major anxiety when it comes to doctors and couldn't go to a derm). After getting the right meds from curology, it cleared up completely within a couple weeks. Absolutely amazing results!

I like them and my boys have used them for acne and it helps a little. I honestly like the magic eraser better though. But maybe that’s personal preference. I do take my boys to the dermatologist but it does help a bit.

We wash it just like washing a facecloth. I was told by my neighbor/rep that the microfiber cloths need to be laundered separately from other more linty fabrics. The lint from cotton, etc. will clog up the microfibers and make the cloths not work as effectively. I use the Norwex kitchen cloths and hand towels too so I just collect those all up and wash them in a single load together.

If it’s bad enough to bother her then get her to even her pediatrician. He/she can start some basic acne meds and then see derm if need be. Acne takes months to get under control. If you do it now, she should be getting some results by the time school starts again.

I have used Norwex clothes for years (never sold them) and I have always liked them, especially since I try to minimize cleaning chemicals/detergents, etc. The window cleaning set and dust mitts are my absolute must-haves.
DS and DD have both used the facial cloths and both like them and they seemed to work. DD probably isn't using them as much now, but she definitely liked them when she used them and she would comment how smooth they left her skin. DS15 has been using them specifically for his face for about 2 years and it does a good job at cleaning away the oil and keeps acne at bay for the most part. I had used them on and off, but I feel like the big benefit is that they are a really good microfiber, and they tug more at my eye area than I liked for taking off makeup and almost leave my skin too clean and it felt really dry, like I'm stripping more oil away than my old skin needs.
We probably have a dozen of the face cloths and I try to wash them alone as much as I can. If I recall, you can boil them for 10 minutes with a bit of their laundry powder to release lint and dirt build up, I would like to try that with my norwex dish clothes and towels.

If seeing a dermatologist is within your means you should certainly do so. A good derm will know what is causing the type of acne she has, have more targeted advice for how to treat it and has access to meds you can’t get OTC.
Lacking that, I would suggest talking to your doctor and doing a lot of research online about acne, types, causes and treatment. There are a couple dermatologists who even do YouTube videos and discuss acne. It’s too easy to use a product or method that actually makes acne worse.
