How many rugs/mats do you have in your bathroom?
If I put one in front of each sink and one as you step out of the shower that seems cluttered with three rugs. I do not keep one next to the soaker tub. Four would really make the area look too patchwork.
Here's my dilemma. I know they make the longer ones to span the whole double sink area. I like the look of that as opposed to two smaller ones. But... I like to pop the bathroom rugs in very regularly to wash them. The longer, larger ones are harder to do that with.
What do you do? Is the larger rug worth the washing hassle? I'm probably just overthinking the whole thing, but it's what's on my mind this morning. Just thought I'd see if there's an approach I had not considered.

Ha! I’ve had the same thoughts, including wondering how to wash a long rug.
Because we’ve lived in so many houses, my answer evolves. In this house, we have double sinks, but only one rug because we have this weird curved vanity and it’s rather small. But the bathroom is also the laundry room and is quite large. Everything is spread out, so there’s also a bath mat and a rug by the tub. Because the floors are concrete with tile over them, DH wanted a rug in front of the toilet so his feet don’t get cold. So that’s 4 rugs in a room that’s about 12’ x 20’. Plus a big dog bed so that Emma isn’t under my feet constantly!
Our last Virginia house had a double sink vanity and I had two smaller rugs side by side and a bath mat. Before the house before that had separate vanities, so a rung in front of each and a bath mat.
Yeah, it’s all a rug farm.

I don't have rugs at the sinks, only one at the shower. So for me, only 1.

I have one in each bathroom in front of the shower. I've never had any in front of the sinks.

We have three. One in front of each sink and one in front of the shower. But our master bathroom is huge and our sink counter is something like 10 feet long so there is plenty of room

I only have one for the shower/bath which I remove and hang up after use. I hate the look of rugs and mats everywhere. Don't have any in other areas of my house either except by doors which lead outside.

One here in front of the shower. Nothing in front of the sinks.

I have 1 large one (which is quite long) in front of my double sinks. Instead of washing it I will shake it out. Then when it gets bad I wash it. But I also have others that are long, but not that long that can also go in front of both sinks and are easier to wash. I also have a smaller one in front of shower.

Yeah, it’s all a rug farm. That's what I'm trying to avoid! Lol. And with so many people answering 'no rugs in front of sinks' maybe that is my solution. At least for much of the year. I had put rugs there because the tile was so cold when we moved into the house in January. But obviously with our climate we usually really don't need them. Hmmmm...

Don't have any in other areas of my house either except by doors which lead outside. Same here. Plus I tend to trip on them. I do pick up my feet, but I still trip on them. My sister-in-law has an area rug under her dining room table and I tripped on it once and almost threw her china plates across the table into the wall. I hate area rugs. lol Needless to say I'm not allowed to set her table anymore.

Zero at sinks.
Downstairs 1/2 bath = 0
Kids bathroom upstairs = 1 at bath/shower
Master bathroom = 2 (1 at bath, 1 at shower)

No rugs in the bathroom. I have a white shower rug that I pick up and hang back over the shower door every day after I get out of the shower. Nothing else goes on the bathroom floor.

0.
I’ve never seen anyone put them in front of the sinks, only the shower or tub.

None at the sinks and a cork shower mat in-front of the shower and the bath - separate bathrooms

One in front of the tub and small one in front of the shower. I just didn't want to slip on the tile floor. I don't have any in front of the sinks.

Zero. DH and I both dry off before stepping out of the shower or the tub. I hate throw rugs.

Only one, in front of the shower. None at the sinks or soaking tub. The guest bath has a single sink and in there I keep one in front of the tub/shower and one in front of the sink. The downstairs bath has none at all since no one uses that tub/shower except for dog washing.

We have a squishy memory foam rug that hangs up over the shower door when not in use, I like it because it goes in the laundry with a load of towels and dries quickly.

We have 2 in front of the 2 sinks, and was looking at a long one at Kohls. I think it is too expensive, esp for Kohls. All totaled $57. Didn't think of how to wash it.

None. If I put a rug in front of the tub it would be close to the toilet which is gross.
Dd has one in her bathroom between the tub and toilet, but men rarely use that bathroom.

None. I use a thick bath towel, like you’d get in your hotel room. It is hung to dry once showering is done. Nothing permanently lives on the floors. Too much visual clutter for my liking.

That's exactly what we have in front of our shower, too. It's just a few steps into our bedroom where the dog crate is so I flip the rug over on it which is perfect because so much air circulates around it and dries fast.

In the master bath, where there are double sinks, I have two rugs. I place them so they are actually touching each other, so it’s kind of like one long rug. They fit perfectly, with a little over an inch of floor space at either end. There is a bigger matching one in front of the shower stall.
I stand at the sink to do makeup and my hair. I prefer standing on a rug, especially when it’s cool. These are easy to throw in the wash.
