I have nearly all of the MME Market Street Ashbury Heights product line, and it's just sitting at my desk. Every time I look at it I am like a deer in headlights. Intimidated, scared and I feel like I shouldn't really have it. I think I feel pressure to create something trendy and current, and use spectacular photos, when that's not really my style.
What do you do with products you love but are intimidated by? Searching for ideas on Pinterest etc doesn't really help as I seem to only find layouts that are super trendy. Eek.

I am not familiar with the line you are speaking about. But what about just a plain sketch you like. Maybe a sketch you have used in the past. This is out hoarding starts. This project won't be good enough for this collection, oh I better not use it. I will come up with something better. Next thing you know your scraproom becomes a museum because you view everything as an artifact.

I feel your pain, andtThis is why I miss having a gallery resource. I could go to the old 2P's gallery and get inspiration that would help me start using the paper. Scrapbook.com has a huge gallery with a good search feature, so you might try that. Also, Pinterest can be helpful, too.

thats a really pretty line but im not sure I would know what to do with it either. If you look up some specific pieces in the scrapbook.com store it will show you layouts made with those products at the bottom
however, I do have about 10 packs of enamel dots from that line, I love them!

I really get what you are saying. I feel pressure to create something great when I get a line I really love. Sometimes I will hold onto it and not create anything because of the pressure I put on myself. What works best for me is just starting something. I wouldn't try to do trendy. Do your style the way you like to create. If you want to step out of your comfort zone a little that's ok, add one element to a layout. It's not about what everyone else thinks about your work. Praise for our work feels really good, but don't let that cloud your creativity.
ETA: I have a scraplift board on Pinterest. When I see a layout somewhere I love I pin it. I use it now and then when I need some inspiration. It's a great resource for me.

Are there any sample layouts for the line on MME's website?
I bet once you cut up that first piece of paper you'll be fine!

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try scrapbook.com's gallery. And if that fails, I'll just cut it up and start using it! I'm not a hoarder by any means as I do use up the product I have, it gives me incentive to buy something else once it's used up. I think I went out on a limb with this line as my husband was visiting USA on a work trip so I bought it for him to bring home. It's probably not my usual style of line. Lots of gold. But it's pretty so I'll try to use it.

Beesy,I know what you mean sometime s I worry I won't do justice to the pretty papers and embellishments. So I just force myself to cut something. I often find once something is cut into I feel freer. I remind myself it is only paper and there will always be more coming. I will also say that I loved that line, but it was intimidaing, for me anyway, because the gold pieces were so pretty, I felt I HAD to use those sides first. When I eventually got over the need to use just those foil sides I was much happier. If it is helpful, I did a bunch of layouts with that line...they are up on Scrapbook.com...here are a couple... I have more in my gallery if you want to check them out try here: My Gallery

I bet once you cut up that first piece of paper you'll be fine! That's what I do. I just start cutting and gluing. You'll make it your own.

This happens to me sometimes with kits. I usually try to find something to scrap lift but if that doesn't work, I try a sketch. I also try and find pics to go with the line and don't limit myself to new pics etc. Also converting a pic to black and white may help.
