I was woken up last night by thunder and lightening. It was pretty intense. Not a drop of rain came from it though. That was too bad. I love thunderstorms, but for some reason that one left me unsettled. I think because it was so unexpected and right on top of us.

100%. One month from today will be 5 years since my husband died. There was a really bad storm here that left us without power for a few days. Dh had just been put on oxygen and while we had a converter that worked by electricity, we had very little in the way of oxygen tanks bc they were scheduled to arrive the next day. This sent us to find refuge with friends, where we stayed for about a week. We were home only a few hours before going to the hospital, at which point they told us to say goodbye. If you’re interested you can read about my experience as a real refupea. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/24882/refupea-today-small-update-opThe first time the PTSD manifested as panic. The second time was lethargy. I couldn’t make myself concentrate or do anything that day. Now that I’m aware, if I know the storm is coming I’ll rehearse scriptures and apply calming essential oils. It seems to be helping but it hasn’t happened enough for me to say for sure. Not looking forward to the time my power goes out! I can see how that would evoke some very strong emotions. Hugs.

I love storms so much. That was my favourite part of living in Singapore. We get maybe 2 or 3 a year here in the UK. In Singapore we got 2 or 3 a day during the two thunderstorm seasons of the year. The novelty of being up half the night never wore off in our 5 years there, although the lightning conductors on all buildings gave us a feeling of security. One memorable day we went for a walk by the reservoir, a storm came over, and my hair literally started standing up. We went right back to the car.

We are about to get another storm, but the direction keeps shifting. This one we might be able to watch outside.

Around 5 pm we got a severe weather warning. Near the end of the warning was the request that we stay inside and away from windows. Expecting lightening strikes without warning and the possibility of extremely high winds.
Some areas have gotten hail, we didn’t. But the wind is starting to pick up.

I'm in the Puget Sound area also and were woken by the thunder this morning. Not a lot of lightning, but I swear one of the thunders rumbled for a good 2 minutes straight.
I'm currently seeing pics of blown over trampolines and play toys from my friends in eastern WA.
Cliff Mass said more is on its way.
