We were out exploring in the Pittsburgh area when I heard thunder. I ran for the car. Being from Southern CA, I'm not used to thunder/lightning storms and they scare me sometimes! Don't mind if I'm inside, but outside is a whole different deal.

I love a good storm. Thunder lightening the whole thing. I love when it's super dark.

I love the lightening and thunder too. My cat Kit always loved it. She would run to the window and watch and if there was one she particularly liked she would look over her shoulder and meow at me. Like she was saying, “Did you see that?”
Being at the beach in a storm is the best.

I love a great thunderstorm. Especially when the thunder is so close and loud that it sets off the car alarms.
The only time I don’t like it is when I am walking the dogs and the rain comes in so quickly that I don’t have time to get home before it starts and we all get soaked. My dogs don’t mind it, but I do. As soon as I’m back in the house, I’m happy again.
It was pouring here last night at 11:30 pm when it was time for our before-bedtime walk, so the girls were put in the backyard instead. They were not happy.

It just hit here too. Lightning and thunder, but no rain yet. DH and youngest DS just headed to the island to do some maintenance on our house. I wish I'd gone with them. I love a good storm at the beach!

In So Cal we rarely get really good storms but when we do the very best place to be is cuddled in bed, under the covers, with my husband. I love a really good lightening and thunder storm.

It’s here as well. So odd waking up to thunder at 7:30 in the morning. It’s here in earnest now.

We live with 30 acres of dry brush around us. I am not fond of lightening hitting in that brush.

Here in Texas those kind of storms can bring tornadoes. So they are a little nerve wracking. But I like to cuddle under the covers during a regular rainstorm.

Not I. Don’t know if I told you guys but I recently discovered I have PTSD when it comes to thunderstorms and high winds.
Enjoy it!

I’m outside Seattle and it’s been wicked this morning. The thunder is so loud/close it’s shaking the house.

Last night on our walk, the rain clouds came pouring over the tops of the mountains. Within a few minutes, the sky turned greenish and you could see the rain they were releasing. I knew we were going to get drenched. The temperature dropped and the wind sent a powerful mini cyclone. We got home just in time for downpour of about three drops and then it turned and went north. We have such weird weather.

We sat out on the back porch and watched the storm. Neighbors sat in their garage watching the lightning show. The sky was amazing.

I’m also in WA and was woken up by the thunder this morning. It’s so rare here that it’s notable when it happens . A good, non-destructive thunder storm is one of the few things I miss about living in Texas.

Not I. Don’t know if I told you guys but I recently discovered I have PTSD when it comes to thunderstorms and high winds. Enjoy it! Do you know why? 100%. One month from today will be 5 years since my husband died. There was a really bad storm here that left us without power for a few days. Dh had just been put on oxygen and while we had a converter that worked by electricity, we had very little in the way of oxygen tanks bc they were scheduled to arrive the next day. This sent us to find refuge with friends, where we stayed for about a week. We were home only a few hours before going to the hospital, at which point they told us to say goodbye. If you’re interested you can read about my experience as a real refupea. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/24882/refupea-today-small-update-opThe first time the PTSD manifested as panic. The second time was lethargy. I couldn’t make myself concentrate or do anything that day. Now that I’m aware, if I know the storm is coming I’ll rehearse scriptures and apply calming essential oils. It seems to be helping but it hasn’t happened enough for me to say for sure. Not looking forward to the time my power goes out!

Not I. Don’t know if I told you guys but I recently discovered I have PTSD when it comes to thunderstorms and high winds. Enjoy it! Same here. We'll have to talk about why you're having PTSD over it. I used to love the sound of Spring storms in NY. Now in FL, I see how dangerous, loud, blinding and scary it is here. If you're driving in it, it's akin to driving in a blinding blizzard. It gets so bad so quickly!!! The sound of thunder here reminds me of gunfire and it sets off my PTSD. I'm also reminded and saddened every time I see severe lightening down here, of our neighbor who got struck last year on a beach and died. It's far too dangerous here and storms are to all be taken seriously. I'm so sorry about your PTSD. Hugs. ETA: just read your explanation. I'm sorry. Glad you have a plan of action to bring some calmness though. I'm here if you ever need to talk during a storm. Xo

We woke up and thought that the lots around us were on fire, the sky was that red.
We watched from inside. The lightening strikes were too close to go outside. My son said one was right next to his house. There were a couple of grass fires.
It is very rare to get a storm like this here. Usually storms go around us and then we sit out on our ledge and watch.

We get thunder from far away occasionally every 5 years. It’s boring but we did just have a tornado.
