I've been out of the loop pretty much since Two Peas shut down, so I really have no idea what's going on anymore in the SB world.  But I got to thinking about Shimelle's JYC class and went to her Forum page, but there is nothing new on her website. Does anyone know where she's hanging out and/or if she's planning to do JYC again this year? I was too busy to participate in this year's LSNED, but I really want to do JYC again this year. Thank you so much for any information you can provide. PS: I really do miss Shimelle's weekly GG videos! *sigh* |

linkI searched JYC on her site and found this. If you join you have access to the class and forum all the time. I think you can join now. Hope this helps. I did JYC in 2007 and still have access to the forum.

I think like many new mom's, you don't realize how time consuming it is until you suddenly have a baby, no sleep and your free time gets consumed with "must do" things. I remember those days. I do miss Shimelle, her site is almost never updated anymore and I miss Glitter Girl each week, but it's definitely understandable.

She announced weeks ago that she has a new class coming out, but it hasn't surfaced yet. I do hope that she and/or the baby are not sick. I really miss Glitter Girl,too.

JamH I was checking her site daily for info on the new class that was supposed to start beginning of October but I gave up  I'm sure she will be advertising about JYC soon though. I think she already has the content - that it's basically the same every year? She just sends out new daily prompts? But I'm not sure - I think this is the only class of hers I haven't taken, but I have taken another annual style class of hers and that was how she did it. So I'm sure even with the new boy wonder  she will still do JYC- it's kind of on autopilot I think. |

I know she mentioned about taking maternity leave - here in the UK it's pretty normal for mums to take up to 12 months off, so I am not expecting much from her for a while.

Thank you so much for responding to my question about JYC. I have been taking it for several years now, and I know that I could do it on my own again this year, if need be. It's just so much nicer and empowering to receive the daily prompts in my Inbox and visit the forum to see who's back and what everyone is working on.
With the arrival of Boy Wonder, I know that Shimelle is probably running 24-7 so I can understand her lack of presence the past few months. I just miss her perky presence and her weekly inspiration. I hope that, with the demise of 2Peas, she is willing and able to continue to inspire either on her website or another venue. This past year, a couple of my favorite scrapbookers (Davinie Fiero and Melissa Stinson, aka The Scrappy Jedi) have moved on to other things in their lives. I know that people's interests and priorities change through time -- so I'm just hoping that Shimelle still has the desire to create and share.
By the way, does anyone know if Shimelle (and other GG) have been invited to participate in this forum?

I've been anxiously waiting for her new class as well and trying not to worry. I do hope she and her boys are well and the class access surfaces soon.

she will still do JYC- it's kind of on autopilot I think.
