I keep forgetting... how do you remember to take pics especially the little things - the ones you think about two weeks later and "oh that would have been a great PL pic".

I think picture taking of the smaller random stuff just has to become habit.

No idea, but maybe you could leave you camera out where you see it 5-10 times a day. Or leave yourself little post it notes.

Once I got a phone that took good photos, I found that I take many more photos of things that "caught my eye." For instance, the dropping price of gasoline, so I took the photo of the price shown on the gas pump. A billboard that caught my eye (I stopped in a parking lot to take the photo, not from my car.)
My second tip is to just take photos, even if you don't end up using them in your PL. That will just get you into the habit of taking photos and soon you will have plenty of photos that you do want to include.

I only have an iPhone 4S, so the camera isn't that good. I always carry a P&S in my handbag. And like like amom23 said, it does become a habit. Once I got a phone that took good photos, I found that I take many more photos of things that "caught my eye." For instance, the dropping price of gasoline, so I took the photo of the price shown on the gas pump. Haha, that's the exact same photo I took just the other day! I couldn't believe how cheap petrol was when I filled up so I took a photo.
