Spin-off of a spin-off. I couldn't think of a popular food I disliked so that got me thinking about unpopular foods I love. Share your underrated faves and be outraged that some people consider XYZ unpopular in the process.

I love avocado and seafood and those seem pretty unpopular according to the other thread.

Blue cheese (the sharper, the better) Goat cheese (which I realised was not popular on this board much to my surprise) (any kind: soft, aged, stinky) Fennel Aniseed Licorice (don't get me started on licorice ice cream!) Mayonnaise (which, again, I thought was popular in the West until I read this board and other American outlets) (home-made, very mustardy, no sugar or sweetness, yum) Brussels sprouts (one of my very faves!) Raw rhubarb stalk Anchovies (and sardines and herring) Bitter chocolate (I even love the raw fermented cocoa beans)

I will gladly eat the tossed aside black jelly beans.

When we were kids we'd eat a stalk of rhubarb, dipping it into a dish of sugar as we ate. Oh, the tooth decay!

When we were kids we'd eat a stalk of rhubarb, dipping it into a dish of sugar as we ate. Oh, the tooth decay! I "stole" the occasional rhubarb stalk as I was helping in the garden so no dish of sugar. But oh my, the tarte taste, mmm...

Blood sausage, Head cheese Octapus & Squid Chicken Heart n gravy
I grew up in an old fashioned European background. I don't cook these things for my family as they are too Canadianized but I do enjoy it when I go back home.

Well, I consider seafood, olives and avocados to be pretty run of the mill and generally popular but what do I know. Anyway, those are three of my favorite foods, and I eat avocados and olives daily.

Goat cheese for sure, although most people I know love it too. Is there anything like a piece of warm bread topped with fresh goat cheese and sweet apple slices? Oh, this thread makes me want to eat. SO MUCH. Skellinton NEVERMIND ABOUT THE APPLE! Don't do it! Silly me.

Cheese infused hotdogs
My family think hot dogs are terrible, and cheese dogs an abomination. I like them a couple of times a year, more if camping.

I could happily eat any and all types of seafood 7 days a week. With the exception of okra I've never met a vegetable I didn't like.

When we were kids we'd eat a stalk of rhubarb, dipping it into a dish of sugar as we ate. Oh, the tooth decay! I grew up with a rhubarb patch in our backyard. We ate it pulled out of the ground, raw, every day during the summer. Love rhubarb raw.
